Seventy years ago today, a day of infamy
Seventy years ago today was a date that Americans were told would live in infamy. As we observe the anniversary today I wonder. how many born since that day actually look back on it in that fashion. How many look back upon 9/11 with the same reverence?
I am sad to say that my opinion is that those who do are in the minority.
120 came back today to participate in the remembrance. I imagine those were the few remaining firm enough to make such a journey. In ten years these too will be gone.
America needs to remember her history and her heritage and those who sacrificed so much.
The Dec. 7, 1941, bombing of Pearl Harbor and those who lost their lives that day are being remembered Wednesday on the 70th anniversary of the Japanese attack that brought the U.S. into World War II.
About 120 survivors will join Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, military leaders and civilians to observe a moment of silence in Pearl Harbor at 7:55 a.m. Hawaii time — the moment the attack began seven decades ago.
