Obama's French Mea Culpa

President Barack Hussein Obama was in Strasbourg France today, on the second part of what is being advertised as his "listening tour." (Yes, it's OK now to use his middle name, especially since he does. And yes, this is now officially a tour.)

While the mainstream media seemed to focus on the number of Americans called on by the president to ask questions at his French town hall meeting today, the larger reality of what was being said by the president seemed to glide right past their notice or care of noticing or reporting for that matter.

President Obama first admonished the Americans present in the crowd to stand down and allow his German and French and European friends to ask the questions.

"Now, I know there are some other Americans in the crowd, but do me a favor, Americans: Wait till we get back home, and I'll do a town hall there, because I I want to hear from my French and German and European friends."

But the real story in my opinion were the presidential apologies tendered as if his own personal mea culpa for what he perceived as the failures of his country and his predecessor. President Obama alternately apologized for Guantanamo and for what he portrayed as the arrogance of America toward Europe. After which he made these remarks as he attempted to solicit more European support for the war in Afghanistan:

"It is important for Europe to understand that even though I'm now president and George Bush is no longer president, al-Qaida is still a threat, and that we cannot pretend somehow that because Barack Hussein Obama got elected as president, suddenly everything is going to be OK," he said. "This is a joint problem. And it requires a joint effort."

Now that he has determined what is important for Europe to understand, perhaps it is time to address what is important for the current president of the United States to understand. And the first point to be made in his understanding, is that you don't go about apologizing or denagrating your country on foreign soil Mr. President.

That's something we (Americans) just don't do. The Dixie Chicks learned that lesson and I believe that it is about time that our president did also.

President Obama has spent the last year alternately campaigning as a president rock star of the world and now I suppose he feels an obligation to be apologetic and cozy with the Vichy socialists of Europe who helped finance his election (rock tour).

But when he gets back home from this "European listening tour", he is going to learn that regardless of the fact that he has taken delight in reminding us all of his having won the election, there still remains a significant number of Americans who did not vote for him. And they do not take kindly to his dismissive apologies for this country in front of non Americans. There are things that you may get away with in front of the home folks Mr. president, but there are things that you had better be mindful of when you are representing Americans in front of other segments of the world.

Gordon Brown: Dr. Evil or Mini Me?

I have to admit to a certain amount of bemused personal laughter when I saw that Sun front page this morning. The Sun portraying PM Gordon Brown as Dr. Evil of Austin Powers' fame? Is about as laughable of a caricature as could possibly be devised. Gordon Brown doesn't have the stones (upper or lower case) to be placed in the same league with Dr. Evil. Therefore, is he better suited to playing Mini Me to the real Dr. Evil Barack Obama? I mean if we are going to be engaging in caricatures for folly and all.


What is it the British say? Poor Bugger? (fitting)

While Gordy is the official host of this years League of Nations (G20) brunch, it is certainly the messianic one Barack Obama who has stolen all the thunder. At least as far as the headlines are concerned. And I for one do not believe that his efforts on any level, will serve to salve the raw feelings on the surface of all in attendance of this grand and glorious show tribunal of the world's big twenty of finance.

They each know just as assuredly as the next, that this grandiose plan that Obama has unleashed on the American people cannot work and it certainly cannot work for their economies. You don't spend your way out of being bankrupt and destitute. You only dig your way deeper into the hole. At the least Merkel and Sarkozy have seen the reality of that and are not buying into the smoke and mirrors of Obama's "new deal."

And Gordon Brown and Britain are left looking like tarts dressed up for the ball, when the grand dance has been canceled and no one is buying the hustle of the Chitown hustler. As Gordy was apparently the only one desirous of buying into the American hustle from the start. Can't blame him really, as the UK is rapidly approaching the great abyss and they have absolutely nothing to brake with.

So when all hope is lost, you grab at straws I suppose. And Gordon Brown is standing there with a fist full of them as the sun rises this morning IMO.

With that said, there is a very real danger of a new world order on the horizon. But it is not the one envisioned by the European socialists of the past fifty years. Those socialists must certainly be shaking their heads in wonderment of the creation that they have helped bring into existence in America. For this is a socialist creation that is definitely outside the mold of previous incarnations and all past experiments.

And oh yes.....there is a new world order on the horizon.

A New World Order

There is that phrase once again. New World Order. Only this time it is PM Gordon Brown of the UK at the G20 conference in London, bringing it up as casually as if he were speaking of a charity dinner.



I am a firm believer that this world is on the cusp of revolution globally. In the past we have had world wars, but never a world revolution. And a world revolution is overdue.

I don't see the people of the world standing still for being relegated to communes and gulags or an omnipresent one world government that decrees all that is life from cradle to grave. Human beings were meant to be free minded free spirited souls. Not robots or automatons or public held and controlled slaves.

Smoke and Mirrors

There are a lot of metaphors that can be used to illustrate the rocky and less than stellar first seventy days of the Obama administration. But none less apropos than the use of smoke and mirrors as the best metaphor to describe the Obama administration.

Particularly when you look at his reversals and complete abandonment of campaign commitments on taxing anyone other than the evil rich. I listened to Glenn beck on his radio program today as he zeroed in on one of the most obvious and glaring lies told to the people by the messianic one.

Dover, N.H., on Sept. 12. "I can make a firm pledge," he said in Dover, N.H., on Sept. 12. "Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."

He repeatedly vowed "you will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime."

Well that was certainly then and this is certainly now. And you don't even have to stretch your imagination to see the obvious lie that was told by Barack Obama on September 12 in Dover (and many times afterward) and how that lie has now impacted the poor and the lower echelon of American society with his implementation of the largest tobacco tax increase in history.

The brunt and the burden of this oppressive tax will be without question shouldered not by the evil rich, but by the lower classes and the working classes and the classes that Barack Obama knows to be affected by such direct legislation and taxation. Including blacks and Hispanics who disproportionately smoke far more than the supposed rich, evil, white and otherwise.

Yet will we see the mainstream media launching investigative reports on this direct attack on the poorer American people by Americas first black president to lie to them? Will we see the White House press corps going after the president on his own read my lips moment? Hell no. He will get another pass and in the mean time, he and his buddy Tim Geithner will continue going after free market capitalism, while lying to Americans more and more each day. While they further erode the economy ad the freedoms of this nation.

There are definitely more than a few elements of smoke and mirrors being deployed by this administration. And no one is paying attention to the smoke or remembering the old adage. "where there is smoke there is fire."

And has anyone other than me noticed yet? The messianic one and his "crew" don't seem to cast shadows or project reflections in mirrors. I wonder what's up with that?

The Epitome of Sophistication

The epitome of sophistication. That once was the title of a rather old but telling joke outlining the differences between Americans and the British. Having risen to read the latest news and headlines of his eminence Barack Obama and his adventures at the G20 meeting overnight, I find the comparisons of that old joke once again rather apropos.

It seems our junior G man president continues to stumble and stagger from one faux pas to the next. Having witnessed his amateurish endeavors in management of government over the past seventy odd days? Is it any wonder or should anyone really be surprised at his continued mistakes on the world stage? After all, the man is one of the more arrogant persona's to occupy the office in the last century.

It was seemingly a dramatic error when the president presented Prime Minister Brown with the less that personalized gift of a non functional DVD collection of Hollywood movies when the two first met last month. But dare say, I believe that the junior statesman from Illinois now president, has now surpassed even that juvenile mistake.

It was widely reported yesterday, that upon his meeting and reception by Queen Elizabeth II, that the president presented the queen with the gift of an Ipod. Failing to note that she apparently already had one. This mistake of proper etiquette and royal intercourse was only surpassed by the Obama's version of the double fist clump, when each of them grabbed the Queen's hand with both of theirs while meeting the queen for the photo op.

Is there anyone in the Obama administration in charge of decorum? You know, those matters of state type things that we just assume are being handled properly and in a fashion not prone to make us appear as a nation, that much more crass and rude and out of step with the true social graces.

I mean aside from the novelty of the atrocious and offensive press package that was handed out to the media traveling in the president's entourage to the UK, someone should be handling these things for him and insuring that only the best foot is put forward. Even if it is a disingenuous and hollow foot.

This morning the news is that aside from the video highlights of the Queen's 2007 visit to America, (Which Barack Obama had absolutely nothing to do with) the president included in the video memories that he passed along to the Queen on her new Ipod, his speech from the 2004 democratic convention and his inauguration speech!

I am sure that today we will learn from the liberal lemmings in the media, that these too were requests of the Queen, seeing as she didn't already have copies of them and she admires the messianic one so much that they were needed in her video collection.

But have no fear, there are at least six more days on this European visit. And ample opportunity for the rest of the G20 meeting for junior to screw with and screw up before he returns home with his traveling band of 500.

As an American? All that I can say is that I am embarrassed that this man is representing my country before the world. Barack Obama is the epitome of something in my estimation, but it isn't sophistication.

Class Warfare On Global Display In London

"I am angry at the hubris of the government, the hubris of the bankers," said Jean Noble, a 60-year-old from Blackburn in northern England.

"I am here on behalf of the poor, those who are not going to now get their pension or who have lost their houses while these fat cats keep their bonuses, hide their money in tax havens and go and live where nobody can touch them."

If there is one thing that the British are good at? It is the putting on of a very good show! Perhaps that is where the old English idiom of "Good Show!" actually comes from.

As I told one of my British friends in email earlier today, "it looks like your anarchist lads are really showing their collective arses today!" And they were and they have for most of the better part of the day.

I was particularly fascinated while watching a live feed early this morning, which put it at about mid day in London during the protests. This one fellow suddenly appeared in the melee, wearing what appeared to be a rather large white piece of cloth draped over his neck like a Mexican serape. And the thing was becoming more blood soaked as the minutes passed!

There was no obvious evidence of this individual having been touched by the police that I could see and he periodically would dive back into the crowd, only to reappear a minute or so later with what was obviously more blood on his nappie!

Talk about street theater!

Meanwhile, the journalists and commentators covering the government chaperoned melee, were almost merry in their descriptions of how it was all going quite well and that although the protesters were seeking to draw the police into combat, the police seemed to be doing a good job of managing the protest and maintaining order. The media referred to the protests as peaceful and "festive." I particularly liked that part...."festive."

In the mean time, there were windows being smashed at the Royal Bank of Scotland in the background, and not the first policeman was ever noted in any of the coverage of the incident that I watched and I watched a good amount of the live and subsequent coverage. So I almost sat up and exclaimed at my TV? "Good show!" But I controlled myself.

Of course, not everyone watching the protests and reporting on them, saw them as peaceful and festive. Like this Indian reporter who called it completely differently from mainstream British and American media coverage. They also seemed to include more of the pertinent footage.



In any event, the reports were that the anarchists were chanting "abolish money!" And painting "Thieves" on the side of the RBS.

I do hope that we get a follow up on all that and how it is all working out for them (protesters) as time passes. I say that the British people should demand that these louts be given their desire. Abolish all the government subsidized payments and stipends to these student academics and rebel rousers that you know are on the public dole and participatig in organized anarchy.

After all....they are against money and capitalism. That's what they are there protesting and hell raising about.

So give them what they want. Jerk their rugs from under them and dump them on their collective heads. Then stand by to watch some real bleeding and bleating! LOL!!!!

What's In a Man's Reputation?

Justice Dept. Seeks To Void Stevens' Conviction

There are many metaphors that are exceedingly applicable in my opinion on this matter. The English idiom of "you can't unring a bell" comes immediately to mind. But something like this goes much deeper than that in my opinion.

But perhaps, John Wooten said it best when he said:

"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are."

And if there has been any case in recent memory where what people thought someone was led to their demise and the end of a career? What better example than that of former Alaskan US senator Ted Stevens.

A man who literally was there when Alaska was nothing but a wilderness and territory. He saw it transformed into the 49th state and then he mentored it into the twentieth century as a US senator representing the people of Alaska.

But all that ended tragically last fall, when under federal indictment for bribery and malfeasance in office and a litany of offenses, he was stripped of the US senate seat that he had held since 1968.

Now, months after the fact, the Justice Department has decided to drop all charges against the former senator. Attorney General Eric Holder summed it up like this earlier today when he said......"After careful review, I have concluded that certain information should have been provided to the defense for use at trial," Holder said in a statement Wednesday. "In light of this conclusion, and in consideration of the totality of the circumstances of this particular case, I have determined that it is in the interest of justice to dismiss the indictment and not proceed with a new trial."

There is irony here in my opinion. The Justice Department has just perpetrated one of the grandest episodes of individual injustice ever against a sitting United States senator? And there isn't even any public apology for the crime. And it is a crime, just as assuredly as the crimes that Ted Stevens has now had dismissed against him.

Nothing. Just a statement from the attorney general that says in essence....."we screwed up, therefore we have no case." And that is the end of it let's move on. But what of Ted Stevens' Reputation?

The American people should be outraged and worse than that, the people of Alaska should be outraged. Ted Stevens may be and may have been a lot of things, not the least of which being a fraternal member of one of the most corrupt bodies on this planet (the US senate), but he isn't a thief or a crook.

At least if he was or is? The most formidable justice department on the face of this earth couldn't prove it. Therefore, as they say in legal parlance, the issue is "moot."

But the tragedy lingers. There is no justice in what what done to Ted Steven or others who were victims of our last election cycle. From the governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin to US senator Norm Coleman who is still battling for his seat and suffering the same and similar character assassinations that Ted Stevens did at the hands of liberal American media.

And now Ted Stevens is left as former US Secretary of Labor Ray Donovan once lamented after his acquittal on trumped up charges that ended his career.

Donovan was famously quoted afterward of asking.....
"Which office do I go to get my reputation back?"

You don't and that is the point.
