Terror Names Linked To Doomed Flight AF 447

Say it isn't so! No, not after almost two weeks of speculation. Not after blaming everything from the pilots to the gauge manufacturers. Not after hustling weather and lightning theories and completely ignoring the obvious.

The bottom line remains, an Airbus 300 with 258 passengers was literally obliterated from the skies over the mid Atlantic, while in route from Brazil to Paris almost two weeks ago.

And it has taken this long for the first whispers of terrorism to be raised in the public conversation by the media?

Please...... Allah be praised.

London's Metropolitan Police accused of waterboarding suspects

The torture claims are part of an investigation which also includes accusations that evidence was fabricated and suspects’ property was stolen. It has already led to the abandonment of a drugs trial and the suspension from duty of several officers.

Isn't this an interesting allegation. No proof mind you, just allegations and accusations. But in light of all the scoff and guff coming out of the UK as aimed at the US over waterboarding? This could prove to be a bit of a 'sticky wicket' for those in the UK of the pious stripe. (and there are many).

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out over the next several days and weeks. It might even take the spotlight away from the recently revised allegations involving Abu Graib. Stand by for incoming Picadilly!

Stones and glass houses is always such a fun game when the bag of rocks gets passed around.

I really like this fellow Daniel Hannan, he says it like it is and without equivocation or request of pardon for his positions. This was part of his victory speech on the 4th, having been reelected as an MEP to the EU parliament.

And he is calling it as it should be, it is time for Brown to go. Or else they will come after him soon with torches and ropes.

Night On The Town Part Deux

For the Obamas, date night in Paris

It's been what? A week now? Since the pres took the first wife on an all taxpayer expense paid trip for dinner and a show in New York city? And here he was last night in the city of lights, back at it again.

Now in all fairness, he didn't fire up Air Force One and all that goes with it just to entertain Michelle in Paris, but he did forgo the customary diplomatic courtesies while on his European visit, so that he could once again do as he pleased and satisfy his own personal interests once his immediate obligations were completed.

There had already been rumblings in the news on Friday, that the president had decided to pass up a dinner with French President Sarkozsy and his wife. And apparently that was a significant rub to the Frenchman, as he and the wife had apparently made plans for the private dinner and expended more than some amount of effort and expense in the preparation. But president Obama put a quick kabash to any of that, citing his pressing schedule and his need to get back to America and presumably back to work for the American people. (you gotta love a guy like that).

Obama hits back at Euro snub rumors

"I have a very tough schedule and I would love nothing more than to have a leisurely week in Paris, stroll down the Seine, take my wife out to a nice meal, have a picnic in Luxembourg Gardens," Obama said, pointing out that he was caught up in dealing with the pressing financial crisis at home.

"Those days are over for the moment," Obama said, but promised to spend more time in France when he is an ex-president.

I believe that is the example of the liberal favored tactic of...."admit nothing, deny everything and launch counter allegations" that I have witnessed of late. And the part about him being an ex-president? Well that is certainly an appealing thought.

Mean while, no one was inviting the president and wife for a week on the Riviera, sitting on the beach and sipping pina coladas. It was relatively simple and basic international diplomacy, the president of France and wife, were simply attempting to be good hosts and invite the president of the United States and wife to a private dinner.

But President Obama was having none of that, as he apparently didn't have time with his busy schedule to fit in a dinner date with the president of France. But he certainly found time to take Michelle to a Paris bistro for dinner, before leaving to fly home on the largest and most expensive luxury jet on the planet.

It certainly must be nice being president of the United States and it must be even better knowing how to flaunt it and laugh in the face of all who take any exception. But give it time, all that will change and change quickly IMO. The honeymoon hangover is about to become apparent for all to see.

A Major Gaff For An Embattled Brown.

While watching the ceremonies earlier today, I was shocked by this gaffe. Obviously a slip of tongue, but one that is oh so tragic on a hallowed day such as this.

Prime's Worm hole

This is a place for me to muse about the issues that affect our world. My world and my country and my life in particular. I can say what I want to here and those who may stumble across my musings, are welcome to comment,or not. America is under siege. Everything this nation has ever represented, is now being torn asunder and crushed by the onslaught of egalitarian socialism. All morals and social values have been devolved into the belief that systemic racism, is the only underlying cause or reason for any societal ills in America. And that representation, is nothing but a Trojan Horse argument. A means of getting the egalitarian camel's nose into the tent. And now that it has been inserted? There is mayhem and anarchy and burning and looting all across America. And the only questions that remains to be asked and answered? Are these. When is enough enough and when will the American people call full stop and take the law into their own hands, to repel this socialist based attack on the Constitution and our personal freedoms.

Thinking

It started out innocently enough. I began to think at parties now and then -- just to loosen up and be a part of the crowd.
Inevitably, though, one thought led to another and soon I was more than just a social thinker.

I began to think alone -- "to relax", I told myself -- but I knew it wasn't true.
Thinking became more and more important to me and finally I was thinking all the time.

I began to think on the job. I knew that thinking and employment don't mix, but I couldn't help myself.

I began to avoid friends at lunchtime so I could read Thoreau, Muir, Confucius and Kafka. I would return to the office dizzied and confused, asking, "What is it exactly we are doing here?"

One day the boss called me in. He said, "Listen, I like you and it hurts me to say this, but your thinking has become a real problem. If you don't stop thinking on the job, you'll have to find another job."

"Honey," I confessed, "I've been thinking..."

"I know you've been thinking," she said, "and I want a divorce!" "But Honey, surely it's not that serious." "It is serious," she said, lower lip aquiver.

"You think as much as college professors and college professors don't make that much money, so if you keep on thinking, we won't have any money!"
She exploded in tears of rage and frustration, but I was in no mood to deal with the emotional drama.

"I'm going to the library," I snarled
I headed for the library, in the mood for some John Locke. I roared into the parking lot with NPR on the radio and ran up to the big glass doors.

They didn't open. The library was closed.

To this day, I believe that a Higher Power was looking out for me that night.

Leaning on the unfeeling glass, whimpering for Emerson, a poster caught my eye, "Friend, is heavy thinking ruining your life?" it asked.

This is why I am what I am today: a recovering thinker.

I never miss a TA meeting. At each meeting we watch a non-educational video; last week it was "Porky's." Then we share experiences about how we avoided thinking since the last meeting.

I still have my job, and things are a lot better at home. Life just seemed easier, somehow, as soon as I stopped thinking. I think the road to recovery is nearly complete for me.

Today I took the final step...I joined the Democratic Party

Major Michael Davis O'Donnell
1 January 1970
Dak To, Vietnam

Captain Michael O'Donnell was lost in Cambodia on March 24 1970, while flying a UH1 rescue helicopter, trying to rescue an eight man LRRP team under attack in Cambodia. He was listed as MIA along with the eight he had attempted to rescue after his UH1 Huey was shot down by enemy fire. The official military report listed the eight as shot down 'non survivable' and 'non recoverable.'

Michael O'Donnell was submitted for the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions that day. He was awarded the Distinguished flying cross, the Bronze Star, The Air Medal and The Purple Heart and he was promoted to the rank of Major (posthumously).

In 1978 he was officially listed as KIA by the Department of Defense.

In my opinion........in another generation, all that will remain of our once great republic, may be little more than what is left to weather the passage of time in the form of a few obscure and forgotten monuments to the great American experiment.

If America should fail....let it be written as her epitaph.....died by her own hand. The greatest experiment in freedom ever undertaken, lost in the end to the pursuit of the illusion that egalitarian tolerance was more valuable than individual freedom.

Let us be warned.
Franklin, Payne, Jefferson. They all knew the consequences of the lack of vigilance and they tried to warn us. They gave us a document as our guide post. We were to guard it and revere it and use it to guide and govern our future and our posterity.
