White House Questions McChrystal's Judgment, Maturity

Gen. Stanley McChrystal may eat only one meal a day, but he better be ready for a big helping of crow tomorrow when he comes to the White House Situation Room.

"The purpose of calling him here is to see what in the world he was thinking," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said at today's briefing, referring to the Rolling Stone story featuring the general and his aides bashing President Obama, Vice President Biden and others.

The president was "angry," after he read the Rolling Stone story, Gibbs said, calling the story "an enormous mistake in judgment."
"The magnitude and graveness of this mistake are profound," Gibbs said.

Asked about a passage in the story where a McChrystal aide describes the general as having been "pretty disappointed" after his first meeting with President Obama because the president "didn't seem very engaged," Gibbs said McChrystal will "have his attention tomorrow."

Gibbs just said parents of the more than 90,000 US troops in Afghaniatan need to be confident that the command structure -- meaning McChrystal -- is "capable and mature enough" for this mission.

Could McChrystal be fired?
"All options are on the table," Gibbs said, though the president believes the general should be given a chance to explain himself. Gibbs declined to say whether the general's job is safe, saying the public would know more after the meeting.

Now ask yourself. What commander in chief, allows his White House press secretary to engage in biting and back handed slaps at one of his command generals in view of the press? Particularly in view of the circumstances. Answer, this president does....it's the "Chicago way."

And if there is ever needed any more clarity of realization as to what is going on in this administration and why, a once daily perusing of the quips of Robert Gibbs should suffice to set the tone of anyone's understanding.

IMO, several things are obvious in this report. First, that General McChrystal is out. Regardless of his apologies or explanations, the man never has demonstrated any command leadership capability IMO. And the laxity of his command which provided an atmosphere and ability of his staff to make biting remarks that he would have to answer for, clearly demonstrates one aspect of that reality.

The second thing that had become glaringly apparent to me since the general took over in Afghanistan, is that he has been more concerned with placating the Obama administration, than in either pressing the war to the enemy or looking after the safety and lives of those under his command.

And issuing patrol orders to soldiers directing them to always try to patrol areas where they believe there might be the least possibility of them having to 'defend' themselves with lethal force? Well that speaks volumes to me as to where this man's head is at.

And lastly, that this administration has openly tolerated the arrogance and biting divisiveness of Robert Gibbs, particularly as it concerns the manner in which he addresses Fox news and anyone else that this administration has gone on record not liking is despicable.

McChrystal needs to be brought back and fired IMO. But he should be fired for what he is actually guilty of. He should be fired for command incompetence and for having willfully placed his command in jeopardy via his ludicrous rules of engagement.

But General McChrystal won't be fired for any of that. Wat he will be fired for, is incurring the wrath of his his sophomoric president and his frat brother administration. And he will be fired and publicly humiliated and drummed out of the army.

And that is simply wrong. But then so much is wrong with this presidency and administration

McChrystal's real offense? This says it all.

"We should drop a bomb on this F-ing place!" Yeah, we should. We should have done it long ago. But we haven't and as long as Barack Hussein Obama is president, we never will.

There is a lot of uproar about Gen. Stanley’s McChrystal’s disrespectful comments about his civilian bosses in the Obama administration, and President Obama would be entirely justified in firing McChrystal for statements McChrystal and his subordinates made to Rolling Stone. Obama is a deeply flawed commander-in-chief who doesn’t want to be fighting a war on terror, but he is the commander-in-chief. He should have a general who will carry out his policies without public complaint until the voters can decide to change those policies.

But the bigger problem with McChrystal’s leadership has always been the general’s devotion to unreasonably restrictive rules of engagement that are resulting in the unnecessary deaths of American and coalition forces. We have had many, many accounts of the rules endangering Americans, and the Rolling Stone article provides more evidence. In the story, a soldier at Combat Outpost JFM who had earlier met with McChrystal was killed in a house that American officers had asked permission to destroy. From the article:

The night before the general is scheduled to visit Sgt. Arroyo’s platoon for the memorial, I arrive at Combat Outpost JFM to speak with the soldiers he had gone on patrol with. JFM is a small encampment, ringed by high blast walls and guard towers.

Almost all of the soldiers here have been on repeated combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and have seen some of the worst fighting of both wars. But they are especially angered by Ingram’s death. His commanders had repeatedly requested permission to tear down the house where Ingram was killed, noting that it was often used as a combat position by the Taliban. But due to McChrystal’s new restrictions to avoid upsetting civilians, the request had been denied. “These were abandoned houses,” fumes Staff Sgt. Kennith Hicks. “Nobody was coming back to live in them.”

One soldier shows me the list of new regulations the platoon was given. “Patrol only in areas that you are reasonably certain that you will not have to defend yourselves with lethal force,” the laminated card reads. For a soldier who has traveled halfway around the world to fight, that’s like telling a cop he should only patrol in areas where he knows he won’t have to make arrests. “Does that make any f–king sense?” Pfc. Jared Pautsch. “We should just drop a f–king bomb on this place. You sit and ask yourself: What are we doing here?”

The president will continue to ignore the realities of the enemy that we are fighting in global Islamic terrorism. And he will simply find some other Army general (dupe) to do his bidding. And his bidding right now is that America is not to win this war in Afghanistan. America is not allowed to do anything in the middle east, other than to expend our treasure and the blood of our children on foreign battlefields.

Mexican Gangs Maintain Permanent Lookout Bases in Hills of Arizona

Mexican drug cartels have set up shop on American soil, maintaining lookout bases in strategic locations in the hills of southern Arizona from which their scouts can monitor every move made by law enforcement officials, federal agents tell Fox News.

The scouts are supplied by drivers who bring them food, water, batteries for radios -- all the items they need to stay in the wilderness for a long time.

“To say that this area is out of control is an understatement," said an agent who patrols the area and asked not to be named. "We (federal border agents), as well as the Pima County Sheriff Office and the Bureau of Land Management, can attest to that.”

Much of the drug traffic originates in the Menagers Dam area, the Vekol Valley, Stanfield and around the Tohono O’odham Indian Reservation. It even follows a natural gas pipeline that runs from Mexico into Arizona.

In these areas, which are south and west of Tucson, sources said there are “cartel scouts galore” watching the movements of federal, state and local law enforcement, from the border all the way up to Interstate 8.

“Every night we’re getting beaten like a pinata at a birthday party by drug, alien smugglers," a second federal agent told Fox News by e-mail. "The danger is out there, with all the weapons being found coming northbound…. someone needs to know about this!”

The agents blame part of their plight on new policies from Washington, claiming it has put a majority of the U.S. agents on the border itself. One agent compared it to a short-yardage defense in football, explaining that once the smugglers and drug-runners break through the front line, they're home free.

“We are unable to work any traffic, because they have us forward deployed," the agent said. "We are unable to work the traffic coming out of the mountains. That traffic usually carries weapons and dope, too, again always using stolen vehicles.”

The Department of Homeland Security denies it has ordered any major change in operations or any sort of change in forward deployment.

“The Department of Homeland Security has dedicated unprecedented manpower, technology and infrastructure resources to the Southwest border over the course of the past 16 months," DHS spokesman Matt Chandler said. "Deployment of CBP/Border Patrol and ICE personnel to various locations throughout the Southwest border is based on actionable intelligence and operational need, not which elected official can yell the loudest.”

Mexican drug cartels are operating brazenly all over the desert southwest and apparently have been for several years. And all that our government can seem to do about it is pay lip service to the problem. While more and more Americans die and more and more of our economy is eaten away by the cancer that is the Mexican drug and human trafficking industry, absolutely less than nothing is being done to stop it..

What is it going to take? Americans getting so tired that they load up and head to the borders with their own weapons? Prepared to do battle with the enemies of this nation? Including those who are facilitating this travesty by allowing it to continue unabated?

IMO, those days are not too far in the distant future. The federal government in empowered to protect the people and the sovereignty of this nation and our elected officials and military and civilian police forces are sworn to that protection under constitutional oath. And every day that this travesty at our border is allowed to continue to exist, represents the fact that thousands of elected officials in this country have abdicated their responsibility as elected officials and have in fact become part of a criminal conspiracy to violate the borders and sovereignty of this nation.

This must stop. And if the people must take action on their own and independent of the sanctioned authorities who refuse to so? Then this is the precise mechanism that Jefferson and others spoke of when they gave us the constitution and the bill of rights and the right to bear arms. The constitution and our own property and sovereignty, is either ours to protect or it is ours to see trampled upon and destroyed and right now Americans and their constitutional rights are being trampled underneath the heels of egalitarian multiculturalism and its means of power via morally corrupted elected officials at the highest levels in this country.

Furious President summons Gen. to D.C.

The top commander in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, has been summoned to the White House to explain biting and unflattering remarks he made to a freelance writer about President Barack Obama and others in the Obama administration.

Well, it looks like the mainstream media stole my thunder once again. Back on June 17th, I penned a piece titled 'send in the clowns', only my piece dealt with the pitiful manner in which the gulf oil spill debacle has been handled. Good thing that I don't work for the president? Or I would be staring down the reality of being sacked much like Gen. McChrystal now is.

I can't say that I have sympathy for the man. After all, it's not like he suddenly grew a pair. He simply violated the supreme canon of presidential subservience and produced an efficacy that probably has suited his desires since the first week he took the job as commander in Afghanistan and realized that he was nothing more than the water boy for this president.

Make no mistake, I have never been an advocate or supporter of Gen, Stanley McCrystal. And a main reason that I haven't been, is that I realized from day one that his only roll in the ongoing drama of the dwindling war on terror in this administration, was to be Obama's policy yes man and lap dog in the region. Gen. McChrystal should have taken his lead from General Ray Odierno in Iraq, or Sec. of Defense Gates. Both of whom seem to understand their positions clearly in the Obama administration's circus.

McChrystal has done nothing in Afghanistan in my observation to contribute to the winning of that war. On the contrary, his actions and directives have if anything, further jeopardized our soldiers and marines unnecessarily. And all for the false and transparent worship of political correctness and secular egalitarianism. McChrystal's battle plan was simple IMO....

Let's place our troops in further unnecessary danger, by supposedly engaging in social approaches that are designed to win the hearts and mind of the enemy. Never having considered that for the most part, the hearts of the enemy and the people in Afghanistan, are sworn to the obedience and observance of a religion that is completely incompatible with western thinking on any level. While there minds remain mired in a seventh century reality that could not be changed incrementally if we stayed there another hundred years.

You don't win wars by winning the hearts and minds of zealots and those religiously committed to your death and their own. You win wars by bringing death and destruction to the door step of the enemy, on a level that is so unimaginable, as to cause those who survive to want to immediately sue for peace. Obviously these principles are no longer taught at the Army war college. Or are even discussed with the pinkie dipping class of tea and latte drinking generals that now stalk the halls of the Pentagon and Washington.

But I digress.......

McChrystal's debacle will be a flash on the screen over the course of this next week and he will be easily replaced with another who will hopefully find his rightful place in the drama politics of this presidency. And more Americans will die in Afghanistan as a result of this presidency and their loss will continue to be a heart felt pain and bewilderment to those who truly care about freedom and sacrifice.

Meanwhile, Did McChrystal really  say anything that thousands of others weren't thinking and don't recognize to be the facts? No, but that doesn't really matter does it.  The title of the article in Rolling Stone that got the general into hot water is "The Runaway General."

Personally? I believe the title of the piece should be "The General Who Ran Away."

Lessons of a"Tar Baby"

Anyone else ever notice how quickly the winds of journalism can shift? From the howl of a hurricane force squall, down to the almost undetectable mummer of a wisp of wind that brushes by so slightly, as to cause the question as to whether it even really happened at all.

Such seems to be the case these days as it concerns the gulf oil spill. The oil spill is still there and it continues to spew its noxious brew into the gulf daily, but we are hearing less and less news of it and even less of what is actually being done to stop it as each day passes. And the media is directly responsible for that placation of the American mind IMO. Their reporting has gone from the level of hurricane warning down to all but a collective murmur. And what they are reporting on the spill, centers more on the scientific aspects of the disaster than the emotional and economic realities that it is creating daily.

For the most part, the reporting of the spill now seems to center on the twenty billion that Obama strong armed out of BP (last week)
to go into escrow for the panhandle relief fund. That and the news of the Scandinavian born BP CEO, who was off yachting along the English coast over the past few days. While those on the gulf continued to languish in a no man's land of not knowing what will happen to them from one day to the next.

Mean while, the fact that our president decided to once again indulge himself in another round of golf on Saturday (round 39 of his administration for those counting) while the crisis continues to boil unabated, seems to have made only the most minimal notice on the breezes of mainstream media if at all.

Yet the oil has not been stopped. It continues to flow and now the main curiosity of America media seems not to be "if it's going to be stopped or when?" But rather how much oil continues to escape and whether the scientists involved in the estimations of the escaping oil, have been forth coming and honest in their evaluation of their reported figures from the beginning.

This disaster has turned into the ultimate political "catchy monkey..... shell game" of this century IMO. The Obama White House has spent the past two months trying to figure out how to parlay the crisis into a political victory for their socialist cap and trade and carbon taxation desires, while BP has tried to determine more so how to capture the oil as opposed to stopping it. While not really concerning themselves with the ultimate reality of what billions of gallons of oil will ultimately do to the Gulf of Mexico and the economy and lives of millions.

And somewhere in the middle of the corporate and political blame games and denials of responsibility, sits a nation held hostage by the goings on between BP and the government and those left in the lurch, not knowing from one day to the next how this is ultimately going to affect their local economy or their own personal lives for years and decades to come.

Make no mistake, 'Joe sixpack' (as the politicos like to refer to the average American) is becoming more and more anxious and more and more concerned about his future and that of his family over all of this waffling as each day passes.

As we speak, tar balls are beginning to roll onto the sugar white beaches of Navarro beach Florida and Destin and Panama City and points east all along the Florida panhandle. And as it stands? There appears to be little more than more finger pointing and pontificating from Washington as the oil continues to flow and the crisis deepens and more and more politicians and corporate leaders at BP try to distance themselves from all of it.

But what they are about to learn? Is that once you have been pulled into the gravity of a Tar Baby? It's not that easy at all to extricate one's self from the eventualities of the sticky mess. Perhaps Obama and the rest might invest some time in reading Uncle Remus tales and in particular, the travails of one Brer Rabbit and the Tar Baby.

Sometimes there is a lot to be learned from a lowly rabbit.

SNAFU the new acronym for the Obama administration

Back in the day. Back when I was in the Marine Corps about forty years ago? We use to have acronyms for summing up communications into short and sweet identifiers that everyone could immediately relate to. No need for further conversation or explanation. One acronym would suffice to describe the entire situation.

One of the standards of that day was "SNAFU."

Simply stated...."Situation normal, all F'ed up." I'd say that about covers this presidency on a daily basis now.

While the oil continues to spill in the gulf? The CEO of BP was back home watching (his) yacht race yesterday off the coast of England. And that really angered a lot of Americans, especially those along the gulf according to the media. Meanwhile, our president was back at Andrews on the links with his buddies playing another 18 holes yesterday, while the "toil and trouble cauldron bubble" continues in the gulf. He even took VP Biden with him. Golfing with that guy has to be a hoot. So I wonder....how did the average American feel about the president golfing while the crisis rolls on? (round 39 for those keeping score) And apparently the average American either missed it, or they never were told by their nightly news and information sources of Entertainment Tonight and E! News!.

I wonder if the pres was after any new material that he could glom from the master gaffer yesterday while smacking the ball around with old Joe. Seeing as how he is now using Biden's "this is a big F-ing deal" remark as one of his own anecdotal bits of levity during road speeches, maybe he is looking for new material.

And what a great example of a man to have sitting in the White house on Father's Day. A man who basically never knew his own father, was raised as a step child and steeped in the traditions of a foreign religion. All the while his mother claimed his nationality as other than American throughout his formative years, while apparently encouraging his blackness.

Yes, I have to admit, there certainly is a new day dawning in America. Situation normal. All F'ed up. And it looks like it is going to be that way for a while.

It's just the way this president does business, so you would have thought that more people and elected officials would have been use to it by now. The official White House snubbing of America, while appeasing and apologizing to and cuddling up with all things foreign and anything Latin or Muslim.

Enter one Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State, speaking on behalf of the president to foreigners in Ecuador as it concerns US policy on illegal immigrants.

Clinton said in an interview with a TV station in Ecuador that the Obama administration "will be bringing" suit against Arizona for its immigration law, though the Justice Department for weeks has said that the issue is still under review.

And as Arizona Governor Jan Brewer rightly surmises.....

"What a disappointment," Brewer told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren on Thursday, saying she was shocked the administration would make such an announcement on foreign TV without giving Arizona officials the news first. Her office hadn't heard from the administration as of Thursday evening.


"We are not going to back away from this issue," Brewer said. "We are going to pursue it, we're going to be very aggressive," Brewer said. "We'll meet them in court ... And we will win."


She added: "The population of America agrees with Arizona."

Absolutely correct governor. A slap in the face to you and the state of Arizona and the people of America. But that is what this president has been known for since taking office. Appease and apologize, bow and stoop and belittle America. And i for one happen to believe that the American people are sick and tired of it. As the governor rightly noted, the large majority of Americans support the Arizona law and oppose this president's versions of lackadaisical immigration reform. Just like they did with the previous administration.
