Homeland Security is preparing for war. Question is..... a war where and a war with who. For all intents and purposes, it is looking like that war is with you and me and it will be right here in America.

 

1.6 Billion Rounds Of Ammo For Homeland Security? It's Time For A National Conversation

The Denver Post, on February 15^th, ran an Associated Press article entitled Homeland Security aims to buy 1.6b rounds of ammo, so far to little notice.  It confirmed that the Department of Homeland Security has issued an open purchase order for 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition.  As reported elsewhere, much of this purchase order is for rounds forbidden by international law for use in war, along with a frightening amount specialized for snipers.  Also reported elsewhere, at the height of the Iraq War the Army was expending less than 6 million rounds a month.  1.6 billion rounds, therefore, would be enough to sustain a hot war for 20+ years.  In America.
Add to this perplexingly outré purchase of ammo, DHS now is showing off its acquisition of heavily armored personnel carriers, repatriated from the Iraqi and Afghani theaters of operation.  As observed by “paramilblogger” Ken Jorgustin last September:

 

“[T]he Department of Homeland Security is apparently taking delivery (apparently through the  Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico VA, via the manufacturer – Navistar Defense LLC) of an undetermined number of the recently retrofitted 2,717 ‘Mine Resistant Protected’ MaxxPro MRAP vehicles for service on the streets of the United States.”  …

“These MRAP’s ARE BEING SEEN ON U.S. STREETS all across America by verified observers with photos, videos, and descriptions.

“Regardless of the exact number of MRAP’s being delivered to DHS (and evidently some to POLICE via DHS, as has been observed), why would they need such over-the-top vehicles on U.S. streets to withstand IEDs, mine blasts, and 50 caliber hits to bullet-proof glass? In a war zone… yes, definitely. Let’s protect our men and women. On the streets of America… ?

“Seriously, why would DHS need such a vehicle on our streets?”

Why indeed?  It is utterly inconceivable that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is planning a coup d’etat against President Obama, and the Congress, to install herself as Supreme Ruler of the United States of America.  There, however, are real signs that the Department bureaucrats are running amok.  About 20 years ago this columnist worked, for two years, in the U.S. Department of Energy’s general counsel’s office in its procurement and finance division.  And is wise to the ways.   The answer to “why would DHS need such a vehicle?” almost certainly is this:  it’s a cool toy and these (reportedly) million dollar toys are being recycled, without much of a impact on the DHS budget.  So… why not?

The Irony is Chilling

 The more liberals and the Obama regime attempt to portray legitimacy and concerns for the people and the rule of law, the more the irony of their actions are revealed in both direct and subtle ways. Any rookie government poag would have realized the true magnitude of the impression represented by this staged act by Brennan.


 

Brennan takes oath on draft Constitution—without Bill of Rights

Oh, dear. This is probably not the symbolism the White House wanted.
Hours after CIA Director John Brennan took the oath of office—behind closed doors, far away from the press, perhaps befitting his status as America's top spy—the White House took pains to emphasize the symbolism of the ceremony.
“There's one piece of this that I wanted to note for you,” spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters at their daily briefing. “Director Brennan was sworn in with his hand on an original draft of the Constitution that had George Washington's personal handwriting and annotations on it, dating from 1787.”
Earnest said Brennan had asked for a document from the National Archives that would demonstrate the U.S. is a nation of laws.
"Director Brennan told the president that he made the request to the archives because he wanted to reaffirm his commitment to the rule of law as he took the oath of office as director of the CIA,” Earnest said.
The Constitution itself went into effect in 1789. But troublemaking blogger Marcy Wheeler points out that what was missing from the Constitution in 1787 is also quite symbolic: The Bill of Rights, which did not officially go into effect until December 1791 after ratification by states. (Caution: Marcy's post has some strong language.)
That means: No freedom of speech and of the press, no right to bear arms, no Fourth Amendment ban on “unreasonable searches and seizures,” and no right to a jury trial.
How ... symbolic?

We The People

We the people.....the three most important words in the American vernacular.

The Bill of Rights spells out ten specific rights that we the people possess via our constitution. Those rights are listed in order of importance in the Bill of Rights. The first and most important right being the first amendment which has five tiers of separate rights included into one enumerated right .

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Five very important rights as they were intended.

1. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof  " Which represents and translates into freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.
2.  "Freedom of speech."  The right of the individual to speak freely regardless of the thoughts being conveyed, but in particular the right of freedom to express political thinking, individual perspectives and individual and collective philosophies that can be opposed to established government or politics.
3 "Freedom, of the press."  A right granted to the American press empowering them as the watch dogs and gate keepers of American freedom and the US Constitution. A right and authority that has now been subjugated to individual democratic ideologies as opposed to the principles of the republican form of government as intended by the framers. Freedom of the press has now been suborned by socialism masquerading as American liberalism in American media and the press.
4. "The right of the people to peaceably assemble." Your right to protest. To gather in groups and your right to openly voice your opinions and beliefs in the public arena.
5. "The right to petition government for redress of grievances."  The right of the people to file individual and collective written petitions directly to their government, seeking "redress" or by definition, to set right what the people know to be wrong. 

Know your rights. Use your rights. 

Authority to kill Americans

This should be a chilling realization to all Americans this morning. An American attorney general telling the American people, that their president has the right to utilize drone attacks against US citizens on US soil to kill Americans.  Really?  How in the hell can something this outrageous be tolerated by our people and ignored by our media.

One lone senator, Rand Paul stands alone in the breech this morning attempting to stand for the constitution and the people. Who will stand with him? I don't see any of his supposed "colleagues" lining up to stand and be counted in support of the constitution or the American people.

Barack Obama 'has authority to use drone strikes to kill Americans on US soil'

Eric Holder argued that using lethal military force against an American in his home country would be legal and justified in an "extraordinary circumstance" comparable to the September 11 terrorist attacks.

"The president could conceivably have no choice but to authorise the military to use such force if necessary to protect the homeland," Mr Holder said.

His statement was described as "more than frightening" by Senator Rand Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, who had demanded to know the Obama administration's position on the subject.

"It is an affront the constitutional due process rights of all Americans," said Mr Paul, a 50-year-old favourite of the anti-government Tea Party movement, who is expected to run for president in 2016.

Mr Holder wrote to Mr Paul after the senator threatened to block the appointment of John Brennan as the director of the CIA unless he received answers to a series of questions on its activities.

Penn lost a friend. Stone lost a hero.

Sean Penn on Hugo Chavez's Death: 'I Lost a Friend'

 

"I mourn a great hero," said Oliver Stone of the Venezuelan president who died on Tuesday after a long bout with cancer.

Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez died on Tuesday after a long bout with cancer. He was 58.

The controversial leader had a slew of Hollywood heavyweights supporting him throughout his reign, with the most vocal two being actor Sean Penn and filmmaker Oliver Stone.
"Today the people of the United States lost a friend it never knew it had. And poor people around the world lost a champion." says Penn in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "I lost a friend I was blessed to have. My thoughts are with the family of President Chavez and the people of Venezuela."

"Venezuela and its revolution will endure under the proven leadership of Vice President Maduro," adds Penn.

"Mission Accomplished"

 Interesting.  Do the numbers lie?  I don't believe so. How can the average American ask themselves if they are better off now than they were in 2008 and coe up with any answer other than no.

16 Trillion and Climbing (Sinking)

The Obama legacy of the first four years. Do you really think that America can survive another four years under this socialist regime. By the time 2016 rolls around, America will be in worse shape than Greece, Portugual and the entire European Union combined.

The band plays on and those responsible in media for allowing this travesty against America refuse to speak the truth and reveal this interloper for who he really is.

"Without fanfare, the Bureau of Public Debt at the Treasury Department quietly posted its daily debt report showing the total public debt of the U.S. government topped $16.687 trillion. (To be exact: $16,687,289,180,215.37)," reports Mark Knoller of CBS. "On January 20, 2009, the day Mr. Obama took office, the debt stood at $10.626 trillion. The latest posting reflects an increase of over $6 trillion." And debt is expected to increase by nearly another trillion this year. "Nevertheless, the Office of Management and Budget projects the national debt will continue to increase by over $800 billion this year and by amounts in the range of $500 billion to $800 billion in the out years - all of which will add to the national debt." It's an historic achievement for Obama, CBS notes. "It's the largest increase to date under any U.S. president. During the eight-year presidency of George W.
