The era of Big Brother is here

Many people have recently speculated that we are living in Orwellian times. I for one have to agree. This story is an example of the ever eroding individual freedoms that we as Americans are seeing taken away from us daily. Since when can a person be fired from their job for refusing to accept an invasive procedure and a vaccine as a condition of continued employment.

I would not think that any court challenge of this level of heresy would stand. however, with the recent rulings of the Supreme court, there is literally no guarantees when it comes to individual rights and freedoms being protected.

I have not taken one of these so called vaccines for flu and I do not intend to and I'll be damned if someone is going to force me to take one.  My wife got one about six years ago and became deathly sick from it. No way would I accept something like this and the people involved at this hospital who were fired, should be filing suit immediately for their jobs and damages.

GOSHEN, Ind. - A northern Indiana hospital has fired eight employees who refused to get flu shots the hospital says are needed to protect patients from the potentially deadly illness.

IU Health Goshen Hospital officials told its staff in September that flu shots would no longer be optional for staff, affiliated physicians, volunteers and vendors.

Hospital spokeswoman Melanie McDonald tells The Elkhart Truth (http://bit.ly/ZQnzxP ) the new requirements came as a recommendation from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Medical Association and other major health agencies.

McDonald says the flu has the highest death rate of any vaccine-preventable disease. She says the hospital would be irresponsible to ignore the fact that patients with compromised immune systems are at a greater risk for illness and death from the flu.
