Who's fair share are we really talking about.

The thought crossed my mind the other day as it concerns the "Occupy Wall Street" movement. Just who are these people's enemies? Who are they lashing out at and attacking? If you choose to believe their main talking points, it would seem that bankers and the evil rich in general are their targets and objects of hatred.

Depending upon who you choose to believe, there have been protests in dozens if not hundreds of American cities by the adherents of Occupy Wall Street over the past three weeks. According to Diane Sawyer, one of many in mainstream media who is more than willing to spread the Occupy Wall Street meme, there have been protests in over 250 American cities and over 1000 countries globally. There is only one small problem with Ms. Sawyer's representation. There are only 194 countries on the planet. But I digress.

Having watched the reports on these protests for the past three weeks, the point of interest that I was curious about and decided to look into was this. "Why have there been no Occupy Hollywood" protests to date? After looking around the net for an answer, I came across an interesting take on that very question.

Liberals are strangely incurious about why their betters never instruct them to hate Hollywood during their class-warfare lectures. I mean never. Movie stars, singers, producers, directors, and star athletes are the millionaires you’re never told to envy. Their “fair share,” and the methods they use to avoid paying it, are not topics for discussion.

Liberals are even willing to extend this consideration to a grotesque caricature like Michael Moore, the greedy millionaire who made a fortune by making his fans look stupid, and refused to employ union labor while doing it. He walked right past union operatives to receive a warm welcome from the Wall Street protesters. He moved out of a luxurious New York City penthouse to avoid paying his “fair share” of New York taxes on his immense movie profits, celebrated the release of a movie lambasting capitalism with a posh party at another swanky penthouse, and filled in a wetland to put the finishing touches on his million-dollar Michigan estate.

There are some obvious tactical reasons why the leadership of the Left meticulously avoids pointing fingers of blame at Hollywood millionaires. The Left gets a huge amount of funding and ideological support from entertainers, of course. There is more from John Hayward at the Human Events link

No surprise really, but none the less an accurate observation of the present reality.

No, I don't anticipate seeing any protests in Hollywood in the coming days or weeks, but I do anticipate seeing more of these so called Hollywood celebrities and athletes begin to gravitate more and more to these protests. If for no other reason, they must feel that they need the face time to help their own props. To date, the limousine liberal Susan Sarandon has made an appearance at the New York demonstrations, but no one with Occupy Wall Street was concerned about her wealth.

Kanye West showed up this week in New York also, wearing his gold bling and designer shirt and there wasn't any notice and absolutely no mention of his attire by the protestors while he was showing solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street gang.

And Michael Moore has a litany of examples of his support for the common people and his opposition to capitalism.

So everyone keep your eyes peeled. I look to see those like Danny Glover and Morgan Freeman and Sean Penn and Martin Sheen and others looking to jump on this band wagon soon. And Harry Belafonte was seen criticizing Herman Cain this week in an interview. Maybe the Calypso man will grace his comrades with his presence soon. After all, according to Belafonte, there are millions of Americans that support the socialist cause.
