Obama's Opposition Helping Terrorists?

Some Critics 'Serving the Goals of al Qaeda'

In an oped in USA Today, John Brennan -- Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism -- responds to critics of the Obama administration's counterterrorism policies by saying "Politically motivated criticism and unfounded fear-mongering only serve the goals of al-Qaeda."

Brennan writes that, "Terrorists are not 100-feet tall. Nor do they deserve the abject fear they seek to instill."

Shaking my head as I type.

So let me get this straight. "Criticizing president Obama, is tantamount to helping Al Qaida." Yet seven years of daily demonizing George Bush wasn't?

Anyone else see the twisted reasoning and one sided bias being put forth and represented by Messer Brennan?

Perhaps there is something to be said for objective criticism as opposed to abject subversive commentary. Which is precisely what I witnessed from the supposed loyal opposition for two terms under George Bush, nothing short of day in and day out abject subversive commentary.

Messer Brennan also misses the point of terrorism entirely. No, terrorists are not 100 feet tall and neither is his president. But terrorists do instill terror and fear when allowed to pursue their aims and goals unchallenged. And that is precisely what this president has allowed for the past year. A purposely unattended notice of what Al Qaeda and others have been engaged in when it comes to furthering their Islamist goals of murdering Americans.

We have gone from a game plan of forcing them to ground and hunting them down on all fronts globally, to denying that they even exist and ignoring their attacks as nothing more than violations of criminal law, to be prosecuted at best during show trials. Trials that are already being touted by this attorney general and president as a means to showcase our legal system.

No one is interested in showcasing our legal system mr. president. especially those who have been on the receiving end of Islamic fanaticism and terrororist murder.

Brennan provides a detailed defense of the administration's handling of failed Christmas Day bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab whom, he says, was "thoroughly interrogated and provided important information."

He suggests that many critics are hypocritical and clueless.

Personally? I often find it hard to believe, the unmitigated gall of liberals and democrats. The same people that wanted to turn their back on Iraq and simply walk away while banging their drums of defeat to he tune of Vietnam, are now those who are crying unfair as it comes to criticism of Barack Obama.

Hypocritical and clueless? Thank you Mr. Brennan. For so eloquently summing up your own perceptions and those of your liberal ilk.
