Britain Was Dragged To War?

Former MI6 chief says Britain was 'dragged' into Iraq war

Britain was "dragged into a war in Iraq which was always against out better judgment" the former deputy head of MI6 has claimed, in a remark that will reignite the debate over political interference in the war.

Mr Inkster said the world was moving from "being policed by America to be policed by nobody" and the danger of an increasingly unstable world meant populations were likely to fall back on the "snake oil and voodoo" of religious and nationalistic movements.

When it came to the conflict between Russia and Georgia last summer, he added, Britain was caught "completely flat footed" and used a strategy that "amounted to little more than moral indignation, which is not a strategy."

Thank god all are not idiots. This fellow Inkster may like to believe that Britain was dragged into the Iraq war unwittingly? And that it was against the better judgment of the brain trust at MI6 like himself and others? But he realizes and acknowledges quite quickly afterward, what the consequences are, for not having America in the UK's corner in a fight. At the least he recognizes and acknowledges the global geopolitical landscape of an America that is purposely being led astray and diverted away from the policies and strength that have held this planet together for the past seventy odd years.

And there is a significant point and potentially damning lesson to be learned from the error of turning away from supporting America at this critical point in history and also at the point that the issue of the war in Iraq was first joined. He obviously sees it now, yet attempts to deny the latter as if it wasn't a necessary reality of mutual interest and security at the time.

Mr. Inkster is quite right......a world no longer policed by America will become a very unstable world indeed. Like it or not, love America or hate her, the facts and realities remain the same. In the absence of a powerful America as the one true global force to counter balance evil in the world? Then there will be a mad rush by many rogues to attempt to assume the void created and they are already assembling in anticipation of the bone feast to come compliments of one Barack Obama.

Which leaves the UK? In a rather precarious position once again IMO. But of course the British know and realize the ultimate outcome of their surly ways concerning America of late and since the arrival of Brown. Surely they do. I mean why else would they purposely seek to damage the relationship and weaken the friendship, if they didn't honestly believe that they could go it alone in the face of little or no real threats on their horizon. After all, president Obama has declared the war on terror over and is in the process of managing what he now calls an over seas initiative in Iraq and Afghanistan. How dangerous can all that be anyway. I mean the British certainly have larger concerns, with their own immigration problems and a national budget teetering like a spun top on its last legs. Not to mention a jobs and industry and housing market that each have all but collapsed or been shipped away to other countries.

Yes, it will do good for the Brits to bring all their boys home and get about tidying up the place a bit before more of the unwanted guests arrive in the midlands and elsewhere. After all, the fifth column is already in place and the advance forces are arriving daily. Not long at all now before the final consummation of the wedding of two cultures. Under Sharia law of course.

Yes, isn't it funny how fast the British want to seem above everything and yet at the same time, they condemn America at every turn over the past eight years.

Yet they admittedly recognize that it is America that has kept the world in balance for the past sixty years.
