The Photo Op Crash of Air Force One

White House aide Louis Caldera loses job over Manhattan flyover fiasco involving Air Force One

WASHINGTON - The White House aide who authorized the controversial Air Force One photo-op flight last week around the Statue of Liberty is out of a job.

President Obama has accepted the resignation of Louis Caldera, the director of the White House Military Office, the Daily News learned Friday.

A secretary of the Army in the Clinton administration, Caldera took the fall for the public relations fiasco arising from the April 27 flyover, which was designed to replace a publicity photo of Air Force One flying past Mount Rushmore with a similar shot of Obama's 747 jumbo jet over the Statue of Liberty.

Well isn't that special. All fixed and back to normal now. The underling falls on his sword and thus ends an embarrassing saga in the Obama administration.

Obviously, the messianic one was pissed and rightfully so when he learned of what Louis Caldera had pulled, but thus are the consequences of turning over the keys to the kingdom to underlings and giving them the authority to initiate such idiocy.

Mind you, this Louis Caldera fellow is no simple "aide" as the media is portraying him. It takes more than an "aide" to the president to pick up a phone and launch one of the two Air Force 747's that carry the president of the United states. And make no mistake, this plane was no facsimile. It is a mirror copy of the primary aircraft and carries all the same bells and whistles and capabilities of the primary.

And for Louis Caldera to summon up that aircraft and two Air Force F-16 chase planes to photograph it? Well that takes a bit more clout and moxy, than some simple aide has the capability of pulling off.

Monica Lewinski was an aide. (in more ways than one) as and example.

And on one last point.... These planes maintained by the United States Air Force and designated as presidential aircraft? They don't belong to Obama or anyone else in his administration or party. They belong to the people of the United States of America. We the people. That's who pays for them.

And the media referring to this plane as Obama's 747? Causes me to see and sense the dripping irony of arrogance that a media (kept by this White House like a loving mistress) is really capable of.

Yet another example of his appointments to positions that have jumped up and bitten him in the ass. And the band (the media) plays on.

The office of military affairs has always been headed by a general or an admiral, but wonder boy wanted to put one of his politicos in the seat and it cost him.

Way to go wonder boy!

Another example of someone thrown under the change we can believe in bus.
