British PM Gordon Brown has recently embarked on a whirlwind tour seeking support for his flagging Labour party and its failing economic policies. The British press called it Brown's 'fightback day' and Gordy once again ventured into the turbulent waters of youtube to get his message across. But did his message really resonate, particularly when looking at some of the back drops that he allowed to be used.
And is he not simply continuing to attempt to ride the coat tails of Barack Obama? And this in the face of a sound rejection of the new president's "let's spend our way out of recession policy" during the recent G20 meeting with Sarkozy and Merkel? (Pssst.....I don't think that it worked for Gordy during the G20 and I don't think that it will work now.)
And while on parade, Brown finds himself allowing something that any fool should recognize as a no go, but he allowed it anyway.
Then Mr Brown somehow was allowed to be photographed in front of a wall with children’s images of the Second World War, including several swastikas. Downing Street defended its handling of the visit, saying that it would have been a bigger story if it had asked the pupils to take their work down.
Times on line article
In contrast, when president Obama recently spoke at Georgetown University, he was unabashed about covering up something that he felt might offend his revolutionary socialist constituency.
That being the name of Jesus as a backdrop to the messiah's pending speech.
So on a comparative scale? I'd say that Gordon Brown has all the political currency of a rag picker in the 19th century east end and Obama continues to ride the crest of the socialist wave, while Gordy gets sucked in and tossed by the under tow.
Poor chap.

Brown may be gone before the next 14 months or so.
The Brits are such a pitiful society and getting worse by the day. I seriously doubt they would know the difference if Brown was reelected or Blair for that matter.
