So much for fair and unbiased

if there has been any recent questions about the lean and tilt of the supreme court, then this is just one more example of the reality below the surface with at least one of the justices.

Justice Ginsburg to officiate at same-sex wedding

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will officiate at a same-sex wedding this weekend in what is believed to be a first for a member of the nation's highest court.
Ginsburg will officiate Saturday at the marriage of Kennedy Center President Michael Kaiser and John Roberts, a government economist.
"Michael Kaiser is a friend and someone I much admire," Ginsburg said in a written statement Friday. "That is why I am officiating at his wedding."
The private ceremony will take place at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a national memorial to President John F. Kennedy. The 80-year-old Ginsburg, an opera lover, is a frequent guest at the center.

Bring a baby. The new immigration dodge compliments of Obama

Just one more example of the reality behind the Obama rhetoric. This administration is systematically dismantling and weakening this nation to the point that by the time they are finished, there will be no saving it.  We are already there in my opinion.

New Obama policy warns agents not to detain illegal immigrant parents

The Obama administration issued a new policy Friday that says immigration agents should try not to arrest and deport illegal immigrant parents of minor children. The move adds to the categories of people the administration is trying not to deport.
In a nine-page memo, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said agents should use “prosecutorial discretion” to try to avoid detaining parents and, if parents are detained, agents should make sure they have the ability to visit with their children or participate in family court proceedings.
The move won praise from immigrant-rights groups who said it’s a step toward a less harsh detention policy. But a top Republican blasted the memo as another effort by the Obama administration to circumvent the law.
“President Obama has once again abused his authority and unilaterally refused to enforce our current immigration laws by directing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to stop removing broad categories of unlawful immigrants,” said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Robert W. Goodlatte, Virginia Republican.

You might be an extremist if......

Thirty years ago Americans would have scoffed at such things being published by their government. Not any more. The true extremists of egalitarianism have gained all but absolute control of government and media in America and in another generation, this nation will be no more than a bad memory to those who survive to serve the tyranny of social dictatorship that is approaching and already here.

DoD Training Manual: ‘Extremist’ Founding Fathers ‘Would Not Be Welcome In Today’s Military’

Manual lists people concerned with “individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place” as potential extremists

August 24, 2013
Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch recently obtained a Department of Defense training manual which lists people who embrace “individual liberties” and honor “states’ rights,” among other characteristics, as potential “extremists” who are likely to be members of “hate groups.”
dodmanMarked “for training purposes only,” the documents, obtained Thursday through a Freedom of Information Act request submitted in April, include PowerPoint slides and lesson plans, among which is a January 2013 Air Force “student guide” distributed by the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute simply entitled “Extremism.”
Judicial Watch’s FOIA request asked for “Any and all records concerning, regarding, or related to the preparation and presentation of training materials on hate groups or hate crimes distributed or used by the Air Force.”
As the group notes, “The document defines extremists as ‘a person who advocates the use of force or violence; advocates supremacist causes based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or national origin; or otherwise engages to illegally deprive individuals or groups of their civil rights.’”
The manual goes on to bar military personnel from “active participation” in such extremist organization activities as “publicly demonstrating,” “rallying,” “fundraising” and “organizing,” basically denying active-duty military from exercising the rights they so ardently fight to defend.
It begins its introduction of a section titled, “Extremist ideologies,” by describing the American colonists who sought independence from British rule as a historical example of extremism.
“In U.S. history, there are many examples of extremist ideologies and movements. The colonists who sought to free themselves from British rule and the Confederate states who sought to secede from the Northern states are just two examples,” according to the training guide.
In a section drawing inspiration from a 1992 book titled “Nazis, Communists, Klansmen, and Others on the Fringe: Political Extremism in America,” the manual also lists “Doomsday thinking” under “traits or behaviors that tend to represent the extremist style.”
Extremists often predict dire or catastrophic consequences from a situation or from a failure to follow a specific course, and they tend to exhibit a kind of crisis-mindedness. It can be a Communist takeover, a Nazi revival, nuclear war, earthquakes, floods, or the wrath of God. Whatever it is, it is just around the corner unless we follow their program and listen to their special insight and wisdom, to which only the truly enlightened have access. For extremists, any setback or defeat is the beginning of the end.
“Nowadays,” the manual explains, “instead of dressing in sheets or publicly espousing hate messages, many extremists will talk of individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place.”
Judicial Watch also acknowledges the Southern Poverty Law Center “is listed as a resource for information on hate groups and referenced several times throughout the guide,” even though the group itself was directly responsible for a “hate crime” perpetrated on the Family Research Council after it was listed on the SPLC’s “hate map.”
Infowars readers will find much of the training guide’s contents unsurprising as they merely reinforce what we have exhaustively documented in the past.
In 2009, Infowars obtained the “law enforcement sensitive” contents of a Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) report entitled “The Modern Militia Movement” which listed supporters of presidential candidates Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr as potential “militia” influenced terrorists.

Affordable Health care? More good news for America

When is America going to wake up to the lies of this president and those who support his socialist world view of destroying America piece by piece.

UPS to drop 15,000 spouses from insurance, cites Obamacare

United Parcel Service Inc. plans to remove thousands of spouses from its medical plan because they are eligible for coverage elsewhere. The Atlanta-based logistics company points to the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as a big reason for the decision, reports Kaiser Health News.
The decision comes as many analysts are downplaying the Affordable Care Act's effect on companies such as UPS, noting that the move reflects a long-term trend of shrinking corporate medical benefits, Kaiser Health News reports. But UPS repeatedly cites Obamacare to explain the decision, adding fuel to the debate over whether it erodes traditional employer coverage, Kaiser says.
Rising medical costs, “combined with the costs associated with the Affordable Care Act, have made it increasingly difficult to continue providing the same level of health care benefits to our employees at an affordable cost,” UPS said in a memo to employees.

And this just in: From the religion of peace

I wish people would stop publishing these truthful representations of Islam and what is actually going on in the middle east. The truth so conflicts with the popularized egalitarian  memes and the truth must so severely piss off the mainstream media.
‘Peaceful’ Brotherhood Protesters Torching Coptic Christian Churches

In the familiar pattern, the Western media are focused on the military raids against Islamic supremacists in Egypt but ignoring the latter’s use of violence and of women and children as human shields. After all, the “protesters” say they are “peaceful.”
When not similarly ignored, Islamic supremacist aggression against Egypt’s Christians — which was a prominent feature of Muslim Brotherhood governance — is disingenuously reported. Take this AFP report of the fact that the Brotherhood and its allies are torching Coptic churches. The AFP endeavors to exculpate the Islamic supremacists by editorializing, in the report, that these were “reprisal” attacks. But the Brotherhood was not ousted by the minority Copts. To be sure, the Copts far prefer to take their chances with a largely secular, technocratic government backed by the armed forces than the rampant persecution they endured while the Brotherhood was running the show. But it is the army, not the Copts, who ejected Morsi. AFP tries to obscure this by recounting that “the Coptic church backed Morsi’s removal, with Patriarch [i.e., Pope] Tawadros II appearing alongside army chief General Fattah al-Sisi as he announced the military coup.” As I observed in writing about the coup in the August 5 edition of National Review, however, Pope Tawadros was hardly alone — General Sisi also gathered by his side significant Islamic supremacist leaders: Grand Mufti Ahmed al-Tayeb of al-Azhar University and leaders of the Salafist al-Nour party (in addition to prominent secularists).
The Brotherhood is not “retaliating” against Christians. Islamic supremacists are persecuting Christians . . . which is what they do in Muslim-majority countries.

One way bull

Apparently when it comes to bull and the Obama, the bull only travels one way.  Obama has been shoveling bull at the American people for five years, but heaven forbid if someone attempts to shovel any in his direction.  The Daily Kos and the rest will have a conniption fit if anyone makes a joke about their messiah.

Fallout continued Monday over the performance of a rodeo clown who donned a mask resembling President Barack Obama during Saturday’s bull-riding competition at the Missouri State Fair.
The Missouri State Fair imposed a lifetime ban on the rodeo clown whose depiction of Obama getting charged by a bull was widely criticized by Democratic and Republican officials alike.
The rodeo clown won't be allowed to participate or perform at the fair again. Fair officials say they're also reviewing whether to take any action against the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association, the contractor responsible for Saturday's event.
A tempest over the incident erupted after the Show Me Progress website reported a Facebook account of it.
“The announcer wanted to know if anyone would like to see Obama run down by a bull,” the posting said. “The crowd went wild. He asked it again and again, louder each time, whipping the audience into a lather.”
Another clown then apparently joined the performance.
“One of the clowns ran up and started bobbling the lips on the mask and the people went crazy,” the posting said. “Finally a bull came close enough to him that he had to move so he jumped up and ran away to the delight of the onlookers hooting and hollering from the stands.”
Mark Ficken is the rodeo association president and was the rodeo announcer. His attorney, Albert S. Watkins, said Monday that the clown was acting unscripted. He said it was the clown, wearing a microphone, who made comments riling up the crowd, according to the Associated Press.
Watkins says Ficken’s only comment during the routine was, “Watch out for that bull, Obama!”
The account quickly migrated to the liberal Daily Kos website.
After hearing from reporters Sunday afternoon, fair organizers released a statement, which did not contest the details reported on social media.
“The performance by one of the rodeo clowns at Saturday’s event was inappropriate and disrespectful, and does not reflect the opinions or standards of the Missouri State Fair,” the statement read. “We strive to be a family friendly event and regret that Saturday’s rodeo badly missed that mark.”

An Osprey for a dog

Really? Are you freaking kidding me?

First dog Bo is airlifted to Obama holiday home

When President Barack Obama goes on holiday to the seaside things can get complicated.

Rooms have to be found for dozens of Secret Service agents, someone has to carry a selection of presidential basketballs, and of course the family dog needs his own state-of-the-art aircraft.
Arriving in the idyllic coastal retreat of Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, Mr Obama left behind him in Washington DC high profile debates over the budget, government surveillance and his health care reforms. Instead, he will spend the next eight days playing golf, going to the beach, and buying books from the Bunch of Grapes bookstore.
In the air he swapped his suit and tie for khakis and a blue shirt with rolled-up sleeves, while Mrs Obama wore a yellow-and-white summer dress.
Bo, the president's Portuguese Water Dog, arrived separately on one of two MV-22 Ospreys, a hybrid aircraft which takes off like a helicopter but flies like a plane.
It was the first time the Ospreys have been taken on holiday by a US president.

If Russia Doesn't have Gay Athletes

According to the president, "if  Russia doesn't have gay and lesbian athletes? It will probably make their team weaker."  Who knew?  So that's how the Russians have done it all these years?  Running sleeper homosexuals and lesbians into the arena to compete in the Olympics!

I always knew some of those Russian Women swimmers and power lifters were probably lesbians.  I am still looking back to see if any of their men were homosexuals, but I am having a little more trouble with that historical demographic.

Either way, Ours and theirs will be going head to head once again in 2014.  And the president is looking for them to bring home the Gold and Silver and Bronze.  I remember Greg Louganis
in  1984 and 1988. He won gold medals in diving and no one ever knew that he was homosexual until his diving days were over.  I imagine there are many like myself who could care less about it then or now.  But it is bothersome to watch when athletes have to be hyphenated to become celebrities in the egalitarian world of the politically correct.

Oprah's Racist Encounter

Oprah Winfrey,  beloved American icon and billionaire has been victimized by racism! In today's world! In today's America! How could this happen? How could this be? This will not be tolerated in America! Of all people to be subjected to such abject and vile racism! Besmirching the visage of Oprah Winfrey is a black mark (substitute bad mark) against all Americans!

Someone should call Barack Obama! Someone should contact Eric Holder and the justice department! There should be a full scale justice department civil rights investigation into this travesty! All present and former members of all white hate groups and Tea Party members should be immediately arrested and interred without bail.

Racism? Well wait a minute, that isn't what happened, at least not exactly. Maybe someone has jumped the gun screaming racism and insinuating that it happened here in the good old USA. It seems this horrible instance of reported racism against Oprah Winfrey didn't occur in America at all and in a late breaking news report, it has been verified that Paula Deen was no where in the vicinity when Oprah was racially besmirched.

This terrible transgression against one of America's most beloved icons occurred on foreign soil. In that country where everyone knows they are nothing but racist. Right? Switzerland!

I think having read Ms. Winfrey's recounting of the sordid event, it strikes me that she was more incensed by the fact that the clerk did not recognize her, than it having anything to do with the fact that she is black.  There is no reference to her being treated disparagingly for being black. On the contrary, she was upset because her program is obviously not seen in Switzerland and she is not immediately recognized as "Oprah."

So there in lies the rub ladies and gentlemen. No racism at all. simply a glaring example of "you obviously don't know who I am!" Maybe the clerk sized her up (profiled her)  seeing an over weight woman dressed in casual wear shopping in an upscale shop and asking to see extremely expensive hand bags.  The fact that she was not recognized her judgement was questioned is what pissed her off and that is why she decided to drag the entire tale of her encounter out into public for the American audience to see and hear.

 Oprah on Racism
Winfrey told Entertainment Tonight: "I was in Zurich the other day, in a store whose name I will not mention. I didn't have my eyelashes on, but I was in full Oprah Winfrey gear. I had my little Donna Karan skirt and my little sandals. But obviously The Oprah Winfrey Show is not shown in Zurich.”
"I go into a store and I say to the woman, 'Excuse me, may I see the bag right above your head?' and she says to me, 'No. It's too expensive.'"
When Winfrey insisted she did want to see the bag the shop assistant allegedly replied: "No, no you don’t want to see that one, you want to see this one because that one will cost too much. You will not be able to afford that."
Winfrey, who is a billionaire, continued: "There's two different ways to handle it. I could've had the whole blow-up thing... but [racism] still exists, of course it does."

Once again not knowing his ass from a hole in the ground

One issue voters

Nothing linked on this one, just my thoughts pure and simple.

If you really want to understand why the republican party is dying on the vine and why in all fair analysis, they do not have a snowball's prayer of winning the presidency again anytime in the next twenty five years, then look no further than the American voter base. Specifically, the one issue American voter base.

I have in recent times listened to all manner of conservative pundits while they railed against the conservative voter base and pondered how these voters could abandon their country's future by not showing up to the polls to vote against liberalism.  These same pundits like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and Herman Cain and others like to make the points that the conservative base is often incapable of understanding the nuances of politics and the various factions of the conservative branches of the party. Specifically, the differences between the old guard blue blood republicans and the new upstart Tea Party conservatives.

In my opinion and observation of a lifetime of American politics, the real problem with the GOP is that they have completely lost understanding of their voter base and in doing so, they failed to see the disease that is eating away at conservatism in America.

The party elitists, the Karl Roves and the John McCains see their world through the rose colored glasses of party privilege and there perceived imperial right to choose for all of the rest of us.  They fail to notice or even recognize the interests of their constituency and worse, they allow the opposition to seize upon the very issues that repel conservative voters, while galvanizing the base of the democratic party.

It's no more complicated than this.  Liberals are just as mush one issue voters as conservatives. The difference is, once a liberal is assured that a candidate supports their single issue? They could care less what ever else he or she may support. If the candidate is pro choice?  Then the fact that he is for raising taxes, reducing the military or reducing medicare and medicaid benefits means little. The same for the block of voters who's one single interest is the homosexual rights agenda.

By example, if the candidate is for homosexual same sex marriage, then whatever else he or she may or may not support becomes immaterial from that point forward,  If a particular candidate supports the homosexual agenda, then that candidate has the homosexual vote. While on the other side of the political divide, the exact opposite is true when it comes to conservatives.

If a particular candidate is not pro choice? Then regardless of what their positions are on any other political or party issues, these conservatives won't vote fore that candidate.  So what you end up with in the final analysis, is a conglomerate of voters who comprise the liberal left and a minority of voters who comprise the conservative right. As long as the equilibrium of balance  remains in favor of the liberals, the republicans will never win the presidency again. Not ever.

Bill Clinton won election against George H.W. Bush not by majority, but by plurality of special interests. Clinton had the homosexual vote, minorities, feminists, labor and unions to name a few.  Meanwhile, Ross Perot divided and split the remaining vote against Bush, Clinton breezed to a victory with 42% of the vote. The same math is what put Barack Obama in office both times and it is the same math that will put Hillary Clinton in the White House in 2016.

Unless and until the American conservatives opt to get rid of the republican old guard and get behind truly new and inspiring leadership and until American conservatives abandon the idiocy of single issue voting, look for a long dry period before a republican ever graces the halls of the White House again.

The Post is Toast

There has to be a customer base and print media has failed to evolve.RIP and good riddance.

They will all begin to fall now. Their piety, their arrogance and their liberal bias in favor of socialism and egalitarianism over common sense, decency and Americanism cannot save them.

Their ability to survive rested squarely on their profitability and in the age of liberal abandonment of any understanding of American or global economics, their ideas and their vision of Nirvana will not pay the bills or keep the doors open.

The Grahams Sell ‘The Washington Post,’

If Hell froze over, pigs took wing, sheep fell from the sky, and snow blanketed Hawaii, it still wouldn’t be as astonishing as Monday’s announcement that the storied Graham family is selling The Washington Post to a billionaire online-retailing entrepreneur.
 The Washington Post
Amazon.com founder and chief executive Jeffrey Bezos, whose net worth has been estimated at $28 billion, has agreed to pay $250 million in cash to take possession of the 136-year-old newspaper and several related media properties within 60 days. Bezos’s acquisition is personal, not corporate, so The Post will once again be a private entity—something it hasn’t been since the Grahams took the company public in 1971. In one of the more jarring aspects of the deal, the newspaper’s longtime parent company will be required to change its name (though it will keep its downtown Washington headquarters and several other real-estate holdings).
“It’s very sad,” said Post associate editor Bob Woodward, who, along with his partner Carl Bernstein under the leadership of executive editor Ben Bradlee, led the Post to a Pulitzer Prize for their investigation of Richard Nixon’s crime-ridden White House. “But if there’s somebody who can succeed, it’s Bezos. He’s the innovator, he’s got the money and the patience, so we’ll see. I think in some ways, this may be the Post’s last chance to survive, at least in some form of what it was.”
Woodward’s bittersweet reaction was typical of Post veterans, who were at once grief-stricken at the prospect of losing the Grahams as owners and hopeful that Bezos will find a way to save their jobs.

Audacity doesn't cover it. This is open and blatant solicitation of bribery

Listen and you decide.

After this voicemail hit the web, Norton released a statement saying that requesting campaign contributions was completely “above board and ‘standard.’” According to current laws, scarily enough, she’s right. However, there’s a reason that this voicemail received major press. In any other country in the world, Norton’s actions would be labeled as blatant solicitation of a bribe, (or maybe baksheesh over in Asia) but in the Washington DC, she was just playing the standard game. Taking money from the interests they regulate is how our representatives stay afloat in a system dominated by big money. It’s also how the wealthy special interests are able to keep our politicians on a tight leash.  Want to cut the cord? Check out the plan at www.represent.us.

“The Arctic ice extent is showing a remarkable recovery from the great oscillations of 2012,” says Guimaraes. “Compare with the previous years listed there, you’ll see that 2004 is the year that is closest to 2013 in terms of average temps during the summer.”

The end of the ink and paper age has come.

I wonder what the Pony Express riders thought when they were replaced by the iron rail of the train and the picket line poles of the telegraphs. I wonder what happened to the ice houses after the mass production of refrigeration. No longer any need for that cumbersome and poorly insulated "ice box" to store our food in along side a daily delivery of an ice block.

The demise of the printed word on paper has been twenty years in the making, but it is definitely here and there is no denying it now. The NY Times may have thought they were getting a deal twenty years ago when they bought the Boston Globe, but not so much now. And to think, they could have still gotten 300 million for it two years ago.

What the new owner intends to do with it remains to be seem. Perhaps there is a 100 million in liquid assets plus a margin for a small profit for carving it up and selling it off down to the bones of the great beast it once was. Either way, one thing is certain. The days of millions of Americans getting their news today, by reading about what happened in the world yesterday or last week is over. It has been over for at least the past twenty years. Some people just failed to get the memo.

The sad thing about it? Back when the newspapers ruled? Most Americans actually read the paper daily or occasionally and they actually cared about the outcomes of events that would go on to shape their destiny. Now? They are happily oblivious and content to play on their iphones and watch reality television while they slowly succumb to the poisons of today's manipulated food supplies while tweeting about their own small little worlds.

Yesterday was the 49th anniversary of the Tonkin Gulf incident. Who knew? Who knows? Who remembers? Who cares? The same thing could happen today and more people will be concerned about tweeting BS commentary about the lives of the Cardasians or Justin Bieber than they will concern themselves with the realities and effects of and incident of global influence.

The US State Department has ordered all middle eastern consulates and embassies closed world wide tomorrow, citing threats of substantial terrorist concern delivered by Al Quaida. Whatever happens tomorrow or next week you can count on one thing, gone are the days when millions of Americans will read about it in the paper the next morning and gone are the days of real journalism in America. The sad truth is that the majority of Americans no longer gives a damn what happens in the world and the rest will get their news about what happens from the internet,

RIP to all the Poor Richards who thought their ink and paper days would last forever.

New York Times Sells Boston Globe at 93% Loss

After purchasing the Boston Globe in 1993 for a then-record $1.1 billion, the financially troubled New York Times just announced it sold the 141 year-old paper to Boston Red Sox owner John Henry for a mere $70 million. That's a straight 93% loss. Figuring in two decades of inflation would only make it worse -- as does the fact the Times retains the Globe's pension liabilities, estimated at over $100 million.

The Times announced in February that it was putting the Globe up for sale. News reports claimed that bids had been as high as $100 million. What might have sweetened the lower offer for the Times is that Henry offered a straight cash deal, which is expected to close sometime in September or October.
In 2011, the Times turned down a $300 million offer from Aaron Kushner, CEO of Freedom Communications, Inc., publisher of the Orange County Register and other newspapers in California. This offer even included the assumption of pension liabilities, which are currently estimated at $110 million.
The Times itself reports that today's sale to Henry does not include pension liabilities. Apparently, those remain a Times' responsibility and expense.
In September of 2002, the Boston Globe enjoyed a circulation rate of 413,000. The average weekday circulation today is nearly half that, 230,351.
Other than plummeting circulation due to online competition, both the Times and Globe have been plagued by collapsing ad revenues, that have only worsened in recent years. Friday the Times reported its 11th straight quarter of falling ad revenue.
Both the Globe and Times have and continue to strongly endorse and champion President Obama and his economic policies, even though those policies have failed to create the kind of economic growth necessary to create a boom in advertising spending. The future doesn't look much brighter.
Last quarter the American economy only grew by 1.7%. Last month saw only 162,000 new jobs created, most of them part-time.

More permissable racial slurs

Charlie Rangel: Tea Party Is ‘Same Group’ Of ‘White Crackers’ Who Fought

More permissible racial slurs used toward white people.  Of course this is a racial slur, but no one is listening.

Civil Rights

In an interview with the Daily Beast published Friday, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) suggested Tea Partiers are the "same group" who fought for segregation during the Civil Rights movement.
RELATED: The GOP and the Albatross of White Racial Panic
“It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked," Rangel said.
Because of this, Rangel said the Tea Party could be defeated using the same tactics employed against Jim Crow.
"It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough. ‘I don’t want to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break,” said Rangel.

Out of an abundance of caution

So this is what cowardice in the face of the enemy and a disasterous foreign policy plan really boils down to huh.....

Something terrible is about to happen people.......

US closing embassies in Mideast for a day amid possible Qaeda threat

The United States is closing all of its embassies Sunday in the Middle East and parts of Asia because of a possible al-Qaeda-related threat to diplomatic posts worldwide, American officials told NBC News on Thursday.
The U.S. has been "apprised of information that out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting our installations, that indicates we should institute these precautionary steps," said State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf.
She didn't say which or how many embassies would be closed or what kind of information led to the decision, but she said the closings could be extended, "depending on our analysis."
A senior State Department official told NBC News that all embassies that are usually open in Sundays — primarily those in Muslim countries and Israel — would be closed Aug. 4 "out of an abundance of caution." Sunday is a normal workday in those countries.
