A Class Act

No two ways about it, a class act.

"Their corrupt bastards"

You betcha they are Sarah! And you tell em!

Obama heckled in Conn.

Now, the real interesting part of this? And the truth? George Bush funded global AIDS projects by the billions and did more than any other president in history, including Obama.

And Obama's allegation in his speech yesterday? About the democrats funding world AIDS but "the other side not?" 'go protest them?' Simply isn't supported by the facts. That is why they are protesting him.

Obama scaled back AIDS funding
Obama was heckled in Connecticut at a rally for Blumenthal today.
As Obama launched into his stump speech at an arena in Bridgeport, a group of protesters began heckling him over funding for the global fight against AIDS.
“Excuse me … excuse me,” an irritated looking Obama said before he could finally talk over the shouting. “You’ve been appearing at every rally we’ve been doing. And we’re funding global AIDS (prevention). And the other side is not. So I don’t know why you think this is a useful strategy to take.”
Now this is sad. President Bush increased funding to fight AIDS in Africa to the point where even liberals like Bono were cheering his efforts. Meanwhile, Obama actually scaled back funding.
President Obama has been a huge disappointment to many global health advocates, especially in the HIV/AIDS community. In July, South Africa’s retired Archbishop Desmond Tutu penned an op-ed in the New York Times taking Obama to task for letting anti- AIDS funding stagnate. At the International AIDS conference in Vienna a week later, the president was all but burned in effigy. Now, in the buildup to an important  United Nations summit starting Sept. 20, he’s being targeted by a congressional campaign led by Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Oakland) to double the U.S. contribution to the multilateral Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
It be nice if once in his life, Obama told the truth.

America's credible threats

The primary credible threat to continued American safety? IMO, it's this interloping apologist currently known as the sitting president of the United States.

And as my friend Chuck at Xtnyoda aptly pointed yesterday, no one outside of the Guardian in the UK has taken notice of Obama's lifting of sanctions against Yemen and once again allowing them the benefit of our military expertise, supply and training. And Obama did this not a week before these dry run attacks yesterday, which originated in Yemen.

And as my other friend Texan in Wisconsin noted in his blog on the same subject, this man is going to get a lot of us killed before he is through.

Cameras at the ready?

This heads up pearl of reality and wisdom from Michelle Malkin's Facebook page this morning.....

They’re baaaaaaack.
Before the Philly New Black Panther Party radicals showed up at a voting booth in 2008 with billy clubs and racial epithets at the ready, my old nemesis Malik Shabazz — the NBPP thug-in-chief — put out a nationwide warning. Remember?
“We will be at the polls in the cities and counties in many states to ensure that the enemy does not sabotage the black vote, which was won through the blood of the martyrs of our people.”
Well, NBPP official Quannell X in Texas says his militant minions will return…to monitor citizen election watchdogs.
Election Law Center says: Strap in.
And bring your cameras.
In related developments, the U.S. Civil Rights Commission was blocked from finalizing a report on DOJ’s obstructionism and politicization of the Philly NBPP voter intimdation case. A lone Democrat holdout stymied the panel:
Democratic member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights walked out of the panel’s meeting Friday to block acceptance of a report critical of the Justice Department’s handling of a voting-rights investigation involving the New Black Panther Party.
Commissioner Michael Yaki Michael said the report, the product of a year-long inquiry into the 2008 case, was “cooked” by conservative members of the panel’s majority to “lay an indictment against the Obama administration.”
The commission’s inquiry centers on the actions of New Black Panther Party members — one armed with a club — who were videotaped outside a Philadelphia polling place. The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, then under the Bush administration, filed a voter intimidation lawsuit against the party members. But much of the case was dismissed during the Obama administration.
The report on the Obama Justice Department’s actions criticizes the administration for refusing to cooperate with the commission review and for instructing some of its employees not to provide information to commission officials.
Commissioner Todd Gaziano said the Justice Department responses to requests for information represents “unprecedented stonewalling.”
Remember in November.
I say bring more than a camera when you go to vote this Tuesday. Bring your own attitude and determination and your own ability to resist thuggery.

The cost of biofuels....

So you thought that the price of gas was ridiculous when it hit $4 a gallon a couple of years ago. And you worry about the cost rising again. You also worry that enough time and money are not being invested by your government into alternative fuels and biofuels.

Guess again on all counts.

US Navy Tests Boat Powered by Algae

The U.S. Navy has developed what it calls a "mean, green riverine machine" -- a 49-foot camouflage gunboat capable of outracing destroyer fleets and powered in part by seaweed.

Swishing around in the vessel's fuel tank is a 50-50 mix of algae-based biofuel and diesel that powers high-performance vessels in a way the military says is indistinguishable from conventional fuels.

The boat is designed to be deployed in rivers and marshes and will eventually be used to guard oil installations in the Middle East, The Guardian reported. It's part of the Navy's first green strike force, a group of about 10 ships, submarines and planes that run on a mix of biofuels and nuclear power. They're expected to be developed by 2012 and deployed to the field by 2016.

Last month, the U.S. Navy ordered more than 150,000 gallons of ship and jet fuel from Solazyme, a California company that produces biofuels from algae, The Associated Press reported.

But those fuels are expensive. Last year, the Navy spent $424 per gallon to buy 20,055 gallons of algae-based biofuel from another company. That was a world-record price for fuel at the time, the Marine Corps Times reported.
Yep! That wasn't a typo. The US Navy paid $424 a gallon for this wondrous biofuel to fuel their experiments last year And they bought 20,055 gallons of the bio-juice at that price.

That works out to a little over 8.5 million dollars of your money that was spent pursuing the concept of politically correct biofuels last year, just by the US Navy.

How much was spent by the other branches of the military and the other branches of government? Do we really want to know?

Liberalism as a genetic mutation

For years many people have pondered just how it can be that some people will allow their liberalism to fly in the face of common sense and even in many instances, their own personal safety and that of their families.

The answer may have been found....
.
Don't hold liberals responsible for their opinion -- they can't help themselves.
A new study has concluded that ideology is not just a social thing, it's built into the DNA, borne along by a gene called DRD4. Tagged "the liberal gene," DRD4 is the first specific bit of human DNA that predisposes people to certain political views, the study's authors claim.
"We hypothesize that individuals with a genetic predisposition toward seeking out new experiences will tend to be more liberal, but only if they are embedded in a social context that provides them with multiple points of view," wrote lead researcher James H. Fowler -- a professor of medical genetics and political science at the University of California, San Diego.
So..... apparently, there is a genetic for liberalism.

"In fact, psychologists have asserted for many years that social conservatism is heritable," the paper notes, adding that "genetic factors account for a significant proportion of variation in social attitudes."
Amazing. So in other words, they have now determined, apparently as part of a belief in a needed defense, that liberalism is a genetic affliction. Much like a birth defect? And I and others, as professed and practicing conservatives should by default have pity on our liberal brothers and understand that theirs is simply a genetic affliction.

Me thinks not. Me thinks that as with the pursuit of the "Gay gene," (a few years back) there is more to the subliminal psychology of an egalitarian defense mechanism going on here, than there is any basis in fact.

Certainly liberals would like to believe that their condition is attributable to something beyond their own capabilities and desires, but once again the truth of the study surfaces and provides the facts. And the simple facts are, if you are born of liberals and you are never allowed to think independently or associate with anyone other than liberals? And you are educated in main stream universities that have long since been usurped and contaminated by liberals? Then guess what.....you will become a liberal.

Not that I discount the fact that an individual can simply be born as a liberal and have absolutely no defense against it. In another age? We looked upon those so afflicted as simply being stupid.
Now? We have scientists conducting research to justify stupidity and calling it genetically based liberalism.

Personally? I will stick with the old explanation of nurture versus nature. It's not so much an individual's nature, as it is how they are nurtured, that determines how they will turn out in life. I also happen to believe the same is true of homosexuality. And there will be no further genetic research (anytime soon) into that path of predisposition I can promise you.

Once the homosexuals determined that if there ever was a homosexual gene identified? That the parents of children so identified might want to exercise their personal choice and woman's right view to  an abortion?

Well that research suddenly fell to the way side very quickly once those considerations were pondered.

Which leaves an interesting dilemma for homosexuals. If the homosexual gene is ever identified and proven to exist and tested for? The only hope for homosexuality continuing may rest with Christians and pro life advocates who refuse to abort their children, regardless of their affliction or the potential inconvenience.

Obama's 15 minutes of comedy fame, compliments of John Stewart

Previous sitting American presidents have never bowed and scraped and lowered themselves to the smallest degrees that Barack Obama has since taking office. And now comes his Daily Show appearance with John Stewart. Call it his fifteen minutes of comedy fame if you like.

I thought I had seen it all back in 1992 when then candidate Bill Clinton appeared on the Tonight show and played his Saxophone.

Now it looks like Obama is dead set to make the rounds on every TV show that he can get invited to, including make believe journalism interviews, compliments of Comedy Central and John Stewart.

I would think that times are tough for the man to even consider stooping this low in his attempts to bolster his flagging party. But the reality is, this is not stooping to a man and a party who have fostered and embraced this new wave of angst campaign politics in America.

Call it digital campaigning, aimed at the MTV generation of liberal followers, but the bottom line is, the man and his party are no more interested in courting the broad spectrum of American voters, than they are interested in seeing our borders secured and closed to illegal invaders. It simply isn't in their play book.

Some may have noted of late, the president's seemingly oblivious and obtuse approach to addressing main stream Americans as it concerns next Tuesdays elections. Make no mistake, the man hasn't misspoken or stumbled inadvertently in his pitch or approach to the midterms. He has in every instance addressed his constituency and those he really sees as his supporters as he always has. From his appearances on exclusively black radio stations this week, to his appearance last night with John Stewart and Comedy Central. The man knows his target audience and how to work his crowd.

The only problem is? He lost the so called moderates and independents months ago (that elected him) and they aren't listening to black radio stations or watching the Daily Show or the Colbert report to get his latest updates.

Five more days and the comedy tragedy ends........

RCT-7 remembers 74 fallen brothers

By Lance Cpl. Sarah Anderson  , Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms
MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CENTER TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif.   — Rows of military crosses solemnly lined Lance Cpl. Torrey L. Gray Field Oct. 15 during a memorial ceremony dedicated to the 74 men lost during to Regimental Combat Team 7’s recent deployment to Afghanistan. From October 24, 2009 to September 28, 2010, units attached to RCT-7 lost 70 Marines, three sailors, and one British journalist to the war overseas.
Seventy-three helmets were placed on 73 rifles while 73 dog tags hung over 73 new boots. There was a single white cross in the midst of them all, with a British flag placed beside it, a quiet reminder the United States is not alone in this war.
“The battlefield cross – its purpose, to show honor and respect for the fallen at the battle sight,” stated a narrator of the service. “Today its immediate need is to show respect for the fallen among the still living members of the unit.”
Regimental Commander Col. Randy P. Newman rose and spoke of the honor these 74 men showed on the battlefield.
“We pay tribute today to what these men gave, lives cut short but not unfulfilled,” Newman said. “Each man gave their lives in a noble effort to give back to the people of Afghanistan so they can determine their future and to increase the security of our own nation.”
As he spoke, the 74 crosses behind him held a reminder for every Marine in attendance of what it means to fight alongside one another to complete the Corps’ mission.
“Once the first drop of blood was shed by a Marine in Afghanistan, we became committed to remaining there for however long our nation desires there,” Newman said.
“Our Corps will remain there and will fight because that is what we do. They went on to the battlefield with the full understanding that we were 100 percent committed to what we were there for.
“The only way that any of these men would have died in vain is if we give up in the effort that is currently succeeding in Afghanistan,” Newman said.

The price of freedom.....pass it on.........

Honor and Remember

Voting is no laughing matter. Or is it?

John Stewart is a likable guy. A funny man that rakes in a seven figure salary, via his nightly charades on comedy Central. I have to admit, the guy is funny and he does take a fair amount of jabs at both sides of the political isle. However, I still think that he relishes poking fun at conservatives far more than liberals.

Now comes the great comedian to the task of trying to turn out the vote and pump up the people for Obama and the democrats next week. Paired with his sibling from Comedy Central (Stephen Colbert), the two (with the help of the likes of Oprah and Arianna Huffington) look to turn back the tide of the Tea Party and Glenn Beck's rally in August on the mall.

A rally to restore sanity?
Democrats are looking to a pair of comedians to do what President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton and dozens of other leaders haven’t done yet this election season: Get party members excited about voting.
Comedy Central television hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert expect tens of thousands of fans to join them at the “Rally to Restore Sanity” in Washington Oct. 30, three days before congressional elections across the U.S. The president will appear on “The Daily Show” tonight in his first visit to Stewart’s program since he was elected.
“It will be a great chance to rally the base, especially among young people,” said Curtis Gans, director of the Center for the Study of the American Electorate at American University in Washington. “For Stewart, sanity is a code word for Democratic.”
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said yesterday Obama is going on Stewart’s show because it “reaches an audience that isn’t watching cable television every day, or the nightly newscasts, but they’re probably going to participate in this election.”
Stewart is promoting the rally as a “million moderate march” to counter what he calls extreme rhetoric dominating the national political discussion.
Admittedly, Stewart and Colbert's immediate intention was/is to pump up their own status in the entertainment world of comedy, but their decision to use this ruse as a backdrop to supposedly increase the vote for those who might not normally vote is laughable.

The bottom line, those who watch the Colbert Report and The Daily Show are by and large liberals who intend to vote liberal to begin with. So nothing is gained by this stunt, aside from the reality that apparently Glenn Becks "Restoring Honor" rally really pissed off the loony left so badly, that they had to mount an offensive to seemingly offset the Beck effect in the public eye.

Keep in mind that Oprah hyping this and Arianna Huffington hiring buses to carry in bus loads to this political comedy is no accident. There is an undercurrent of liberal elitist money flowing beneath this event that would rival the evil that seeped and soared beneath Gotham in the classic movie Ghost busters.

But in the final analysis, the end result will not be noticeably changed by as much as one percentage point. The battle lines have been drawn and come next Tuesday, those on both sides of the isle will vote as they have already decided.

Perhaps in years gone by, the undecided and moderates waited until the last minute to make a choice, but not this time. they have know for months who they intended to vote for and how they intended to vote period. Two years of a stale economy and staggering unemployment will do that to a voter base.

So best wishes to Stewart and Colbert Saturday. I hope their spectacle is at least entertaining. But I seriously don't expect it to change any minds or any votes come Tuesday.

Voter fraud? Say it ain't so!

The stories and reports of voting irregularities began seeping into media yesterday. Those engaged in early voting across the country were encountering bizarre problems at the ballot box. From Nevada to North Carolina strange things were and are happening at the ballot box. Inexplicable things...

Reports of everything from machines refusing to accept straight ticket votes for republicans and immediately converting those votes to straight ticket votes for democrats, to those in Nevada finding when they went into the voting booth, that Harry Reid's name was already checked on their ballot.

Most Americans would think that in the twenty first century in America, that our voting system would have become fool proof. And it has to some extent. That extent being, it has been designed to fool the average fool into believing in random computer glitches and inexplicable ballot box gremlins that account for these supposed isolated instances of 'minor irregularities.' Kinda makes those voting in Afghanistan with their blue fingers look high tech now don't it.

Many things in history remain constant in my opinion and one of the most notable constants is the reality of ongoing voter fraud in America. From the aforementioned instances occurring yesterday that have already begun, to the word yesterday from the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruling, that determined that it is illegal for Arizona to require proof of residency or citizenship to vote in that state.

The same measures to attempt to defeat honesty at the ballot box and the same caliber of lawsuits are afoot all across this nation in other states and they are aimed at any state's attempt to apply honesty and sensibility to the voting process. There is obviously too much at stake here to allow the American people to have an honest election. And absolutely nothing has changed in the ten years since the 2000 election and the voting irregularities that occurred then.

Most people remember the 'dangling chads' and the lawsuits and counter lawsuits and in the end the Supreme Court having to make a ruling that the democrat stalling tactics and obfuscating on how the ballots should and should not be counted was over.

But how many remember the thousands of military absentee ballots that were literally disallowed and denied? There were tens of thousands of them and the reason they were disallowed was simple. The majority of military personnel vote conservative values. Which means they vote republican. And in a close election where the democrats are pulling out all stops, there was no way in hell they were going to allow those serving this country in the military to have a voice in any election.

And the same remains true today. News last week of countless incidents from Illinois to New York of states that somehow 'missed the deadline' for getting absentee ballots mailed to those serving in the military over seas. And the remedy proposed was laughable for anyone seriously considering the long term impact on the election process. The remedy proposed was? "We will let them vote absentee, but their votes simply won't be included until after the races have been decided, due to the time involved in returning and processing these ballots that were somehow sent out late."

Stranger than fiction right? Wrong! This is the present day reality in America when you have dishonest politicians and dishonest polling workers and dishonest unions and dishonest state elections boards involved and allowed to get away with committing criminal voter fraud. But never fear, at least according to the 9th Circuit Court ruling this week? There is always the ability of those in power to prosecute voter fraud on perjury counts after the fact. So that means that there is the potential for tens of thousands of prosecutions for voter fraud right? Right after they are finished processing all the illegal immigrant cases for prosecution I would imagine.

So as you go to the polls next week to vote, have a look around. Are there thugs present at many polling places intimidating voters once again? Will they be allowed once again (at least locally) to have an influence in deciding an election through thuggery and intimidation?

Look for them. You will probably recognize them by their uniforms. American Black Panthers wearing black military uniforms and black berets with a clinched fist insignia. Holding night sticks and scowling at white people and threatening them as they attempt to enter voting precincts. And remember, The US Justice Department has given the black Panthers its seal of approval to conduct voter intimidation 'ad arbitrium'.

Can't happen in America you say? It already has happened and it will happen again during this election cycle. Because the US Justice Department under Eric Holder and at the direction of Barack Obama said it was OK for them to do it. No crime, no fowl.

Yes America, watch closely and pay attention. Your rights and your future are at stake and on the line. If we as a nation of 'we the people' fail to take back our country next week, there may not even be an election in 2012.

Impossible! Not when you look at what has already happened and been allowed when it comes to dishonesty in voting.

Vote America! Make a difference!

9th Circuit Court Gets it Wrong Again

Once again the most liberal Circuit Court of appeals in America has gotten it wrong. And once again Americans should be asking themselves why. Why does the 9th Circuit consistently side with the ACLU and those hell bent to secularize and destroy and disrupt this country.

This most recent ruling strikes down the Arizona law requiring proof of citizenship to vote. The majority vote of the court stated that the law didn't uphold the voter's rights act as passed by congress in the 1960's and that the lawmakers had a built in check and balance on voter fraud written into the law, as they provided a sanction of charges of perjury for anyone who lied concerning their status of citizenship when registering.

So......according to the 9th circuit ruling? They believe that an after the fact threat of prosecution is all that is required to prevent illegal immigrants from voting in our elections. And that anything done before the fact to insure the legality of a voter via requiring that they present valid identification and proof of citizenship is wrong.

Something is wrong alright.

Court overturns Arizona's proof of citizenship requirement for voter registration

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned Arizona’s requirement that people show proof of citizenship to register to vote.
The split decision by a three-judge panel determined that the requirement to show proof of citizenship — passed by voters in 2004 — is not consistent with the National Voter Registration Act.
Associate Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, temporarily sitting by designation, and Circuit Judge Sandra Ikuta, with chief judge Alex Kozinski dissenting, said Prop. 200 creates an additional hurdle, while the national act is intended to reduce “state-imposed obstacles” to registration.
The majority noted that Congress was well aware of the problem of voter fraud when it passed the voter act, and built in sufficient protections, including applying perjury penalties to applicants who lie about their eligibilty.
The court determined Arizona’s polling place photo identification requirement, however, is a minimal burden and does not violate the Equal Protection Clause in the 14th Amendment.
Attorney General Terry Goddard’s office is still reviewing the decision and was unavailable for comment.
Secretary of State Ken Bennett said he does not anticipate that the ruling will make any difference in voting next week, since it wasn’t in place when registration closed Oct. 4.

What's in a phrase? A lot when you think about it.

Barack Obama is a man of many metaphors and most of them are troubling once you stop and reflect on what the man has said and what the direct inference represents. For example, take this little pearl from a speech yesterday in Rhode Island.

He said Republicans had driven the economy into a ditch and then stood by and criticized while Democrats pulled it out. Now that progress has been made, he said, "we can't have special interests sitting shotgun. We gotta have middle class families up in front. We don't mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back."

Once again the president uses a metaphoric reference that on its face should be troubling to most Americans, especially blacks. Sit in the back of the bus? Is that really where America's first black president sees his opposition as rightfully placed?

Some have recently opined that much of what is coming out of this administration is what is known as "projection" in the world of psychology. Projection is where the person or group takes their worst traits and attempts to project them onto their opposition to paint them as they are. And there certainly is more than enough evidence to make that assertion as it applies to the democrat play book and the tactics they employ regularly to deceive the American people..

But we also have something else afoot here. Something far more sinister (if that is possible) than mere psychological projection as a ploy of political gamesmanship. What we have here is a president's subliminal attempt to subject the object of his anger and discontent (in this case white people/The Tea Party movement/republicans) to the same type of demeaning social ostracizing that blacks were subjected to fifty years ago.

That's right, Barack Obama doesn't simply want to throw people (the opposition) under the bus, Barack Obama wants to figuratively relegate his opposition in the republican party to the 'back of the bus.' The metaphor is striking in my opinion and not the first member of main stream media has made the first move toward drawing the obvious parallel concerning the president's metaphor.

Barack Obama may have promised to mend racial fences during his campaign, but he has gone out of his way to accomplish the opposite since taking office and this is but one more example in my opinion.

I hazard the thought of the reverse having been said by a white politician as it concerned democrats, who are comprised in large part by blacks in America. What would have been the cacophony of rage to follow in the media, had Sarah Palin said that she intended to see democrats relegated to the 'back of the bus' once republicans regained control of the house?

I believe the answer is obvious. And all the more reason that Americans black and white need to turn out in droves next Tuesday to vote these socialists out of office and to repudiate this interloping impostor that presently occupies the Oval office.

The village idiot raves again

If there ever was any doubt that Jimmy Carter has become an apologist raving loon and a delusional mouth piece for leftist and our enemies, let this most recent report of his sublime leftist spouting serve as official record once and for all. The man is a legend in his own mind. Outside of that, he should be locked up.

Will someone please bundle up this sad shell of a man and take him to some sequestered little bungalow somewhere on a desert island? Somewhere where he will no longer have access to TV reporters or so called journalist.

Somewhere where he can live out his days while leaving the rest of America alone to try and get past the nightmare memories of his failed presidency, as we wrestle with the most recent incarnation of yet another socialist on the loose on Pennsylvania Ave.

America hasn't improved much over past 3 decades, Jimmy Carter says
"We had almost complete harmony with every nation on Earth," the Nobel Peace Prize winner said of his administration. "We not only preserved peace for our country, we never went to war. We never dropped a bomb. We never fired a missile."

What our troops are up against

They low down, they dirty and they some snitches

For all the Tennessee and Alabama fans.

And a little Monday levity for the rest of us.

Barry holds a tough conversation with America

Sometimes, you just have to be amazed at the way democrats see the world....

Obama likely to focus on deficit  in next 2 years

Preparing for political life after a bruising election, President Barack Obama will put greater emphasis on fiscal discipline, a nod to a nation sick of spending and to a Congress poised to become more Republican, conservative and determined to stop him.He is already giving clues about how he will govern in the last two years of his term.

Preparing for a political life after a bruising election? Really? How about 'preparing to spent the last two years of his term as a lame duck fending off the American people and the republican ground swell that will carry into 2012?'

Way to go Barry! After two years of hells bells full tilt socialist pursuits? After two years of mind boggling deficits and unabated 10% unemployment? You have decided to suddenly become more fiscally responsible and focus on the economy?

Enjoy yourself. The American people have been focusing on those issues for the past two years and you and madam Pelosi chose to not only ignore us? But you chose to mock us. And now that the writing is on the wall? Now you want to suddenly sit up and take notice and pay attention to the desires and sufferings of the people?

Sorry but no one is buying that tripe. America is on the cusp of electing a change for real this time around Barry and you aren't going to be part of it.

Staying at the Taj Mahal

"Some people act like they are living in the Taj Mahal."

And then there are those who really do. Or at least they get to stay there for a night or two. Of course, the White House is as close as you can get to the metaphor of the Taj on this side of the world. But I guess our president figured 'what the hell! Might as well splurge a bit more while it is still on the taxpayer's dime and we still control the purse strings.' I'll bet Madam Pelosi is envious).

So Four days after the midterm elections, Barack and Michelle and their 'entourage' arrive in Mumbai India and you guessed it. They will stay at the Taj Mahal Hotel. And to top that off?
To ensure fool-proof security, the President’s team has booked the entire the Taj Mahal Hotel, including 570 rooms, all banquets and restaurants. Since his security contingent and staff will comprise a huge number, 125 rooms at Taj President have also been booked, apart from 80 to 90 rooms each in Grand Hyatt and The Oberoi hotels. The NCPA, where the President is expected to meet representatives from the business community, has also been entirely booked.
The officer said, “Obama’s contingent is huge. There are two jumbo jets coming along with Air Force One, which will be flanked by security jets. There will be 30 to 40 secret service agents, who will arrive before him. The President’s convoy has 45 cars, including the Lincoln Continental in which the President travels.”

Since Obama will stay in a hotel that is on sea front, elaborate coastal security arrangements have been made by the US Navy in consonance with the Indian Navy and the Coast Guard. “There will be US naval ships, along with Indian vessels , patrolling the sea till about 330-km from the shore. This is to negate the possibility of a missile being fired from a distance,” the officer said.

That's right, not a typo. They have rented the entire 570 rooms of the hotel for their two night stay. And as the old saying goes? "Enquiring minds want to know." So I did a little research last night and determined that the going rate for a room at Mumbai's Taj Mahal five star hotel is $477 US. Pitch in a few fees and taxes here and there? And let's just say $500 a night. And if all 570 rooms went for that rate (which they don't) then the nightly cost of renting the entire hotel?

$285,000 a night. times two makes it $570,000

So, not counting the three jumbo jets that are coming along and the forty five support vehicles and the forty or fifty Secret Service people, this little jaunt will cost the tax payers (you and me) over a half of a million dollars just for the hotel tab.

Kinda makes Michelle's Spanish holiday recently pale by comparison don't it. But then again, this isn't one of the first family's official state sponsored holidays. This is an official state visit, so the cost involved should be of no serious consequence or concern. (right?)

Yep, tell that to the voters who will be going to the polls four days before the president begins his Ali Baba adventure in Mubai.

PS, the Taj Mahal hotel in Mubai? Is affectionately referred to as the "Palace."

Fitting don't you think.......

Yesterday's News

Yesterday's news cycle was all but consumed by the firing of Juan Williams by NPR. It seems that he had some less than acceptable things to say about Muslims and his personal feelings upon seeing them in airports, while doing an interview on Monday on the Bill O'Reilly show.

Those remarks resulted in Juan being fired from NPR. On another note, Fox News immediately stepped in and filled the void and hired Juan to a lucrative three year contract at $2,000,000 So All's well that ends well I suppose.

My personal feelings are that Fox has always used Juan as a supposed counter weight to their more conservative analysts, so his full time employment really changes little at the Fox News network. And he is more palatable than Allen Colmes.

The real humorous part of all this to me, has been watching, reading and listening to those at NPR as they attempted to put a face of journalistic reasonableness to their punitive actions against Juan. Something about maintaining their journalistic standards and such. (now that is a real oxymoron).

The bottom line, NPR is a flaming liberal and publicly funded entity that for the most part, spouts and supports exclusively liberal perspectives. And as such, only the most morose and twisted of the rabid liberal left listen to it's offerings to begin with. Therefore, their opting to fire their token milk toast 'quasi conservative' is of little consequence in their big picture as it concerns their limited audience.

Having read and listened to most of the commentary in the aftermath of Juan's firing by NPR, I happen to believe that Mike Huckabee has it right when he says it is time to pull the funding for NPR. Something that should not be done just over this incident, but something that should have been done long ago IMO. The American people should not have to pay for propaganda.

America has no need of this Marxist version of radio free America broadcasting operating inside our borders. I say let them pack their trash and head for Europe where someone might actually care to listen to their tripe.

In the mean time, I am glad that Juan landed on his feet in the aftermath of all this. My only thoughts at this point are? Reflecting back on Obama's lamenting the intrinsic racism of his grandmother and comparing that to what was obviously racist about Juan's remarks.

As everyone in America today knows, we as individuals are not allowed to have personal likes or dislikes or social fears or anxieties. None of those emotions or thoughts are permitted or allowed in the egalitarian world of multiculturalism.

And bad things happen to those who transgress. Even when they are black and liberal.

Not so Astute a manuever for the Royal Navy

I like the part about this being the most advanced nuclear submarine in existence. I imagine the US Navy might have a thing or two to say about that.

But for me

Yep.....Harry Reid saved the world.....just ask him

And Tim Geithner? He plans to do it too.

Now that is what I really call the dems doubling down.......

The rules haven't changed, only the players

To those who may be following this blog, you may remember last year when I was in opposition to the naming of General Stanly McChrystal as military commander in Afghanistan. And you may also remember that I subsequently blogged and chastised the general over his idiotic rules of engagement. Rules that were (and still are) getting our soldiers and Marines killed.

You may also recall that I was no big fan or supporter of the appointment of McChrystal's replacement, General Petraeus. And there was and is a reason for that. And the basis of reason for my opinion concerning both these generals is simple. In the Marine Corps of my era, we called it "SSDD." Or, "Same Sh*T, Different Day." Not a damn thing has changed.

SSDD is precisely what we have going on presently in Afghanistan. It is also what has been going on since day one of the present regime in Washington.

Read below...

To the U.S. Army soldiers and Marines serving here, some things seem so obviously true that they are beyond debate. Among those perceived truths: Tthe restrictive rules of engagement that they have to fight under have made serving in combat far more dangerous for them, while allowing the Taliban to return to a position of strength.

"If they use rockets to hit the [forward operating base] we can't shoot back because they were within 500 meters of the village. If they shoot at us and drop their weapon in the process we can't shoot back," said Spc. Charles Brooks, 26, a U.S. Army medic with 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, in Zabul province.

Word had come down the morning Brooks spoke to this reporter that watch towers surrounding the base were going to be dismantled because Afghan village elders, some sympathetic to the Taliban, complained they were invading their village privacy. "We have to take down our towers because it offends them and now the Taliban can set up mortars and we can't see them," Brooks added, with disgust.

In June, Gen. David Petraeus, who took command here after the self-inflicted demise of Gen. Stanley McChrystal, told Congress that he was weighing a major change with rules for engaging enemy fighters in Afghanistan. That has not yet happened, troops say. Soldiers and Marines continue to be held back by what they believe to be strict rules imposed by the government of President Hamid Karzai designed with one objective: limit Afghan civilian casualties.

"I don't think the military leaders, president or anybody really cares about what we're going through," said Spc. Matthew "Silver" Fuhrken, 25, from Watertown, N.Y. "I'm sick of people trying to cover up what's really going on over here. They won't let us do our job. I don't care if they try to kick me out for what I'm saying -- war is war and this is no war. I don't know what this is."

So what has changed since Petraeus took over? Not one damn thing. And this general knows the truth just like his predecessor, they will follow the idiocy of the present commander in chief? Or the present commander in chief will find another useful idiot to replace them with.

What difference does it make whether McChrystal or Petraeus is in charge over there? Neither one has been or is being allowed to conduct this war as a war. We remain stuck in the liberal socialist 'touchy feely' idiocy that these troops are once again bringing to our attention as their own living and dying daily reality. When troops speak out as that one young man does in this piece? Then there is something terribly wrong over there.

Rules of engagement? There are no rules of engagement except for losers.
And I for one can see on a daily basis what the losing game plan of this administration is actually resulting in. I escorted another Marine killed in action to his final rest last week. And there is another one schedule for burial later this week in my state. And we are losing them by the dozens now weekly, from all over America. How many more must die before we pull our head out of the sand and either do the job or leave.

Our troops are being once again sacrificed on the playing field of socialist politics, no different than we were in my generation during Vietnam. That is precisely what the spawn of that hippie age who are now in charge want to see happen again.

I am so sick of these sorry interloping bastards that call themselves Americans, yet gladly offer up the blood of our troops on their alter of egalitarian socialism and Marxist anti Americanism.

The time has come for a stop to be put to their treachery and deceit. Perhaps in two weeks we can begin that change, but make no mistake, at best that is only a starting point for what truly needs to be done. The cancer that is present day American liberalism must be eliminated at all levels. Particularly as it exists in media and our universities.

Sometimes, you need to ask. Why?

The present administration has made no bones about its apologist approach to Muslim countries and this president has done more bowing and scraping to Muslims than a house painter with a putty knife.

So when I see articles like this? Especially on the heels of Obama's recent revelations that "America can absorb a significant terrorist attack?" I have to stop and ask myself "what purposes are being served by these pursuits.

WASHINGTON — Law enforcement and counterterrorism officials, citing lapses in compliance with surveillance orders, are pushing to overhaul a federal law that requires phone and broadband carriers to ensure that their networks can be wiretapped, federal officials say.
The officials say tougher legislation is needed because some telecommunications companies in recent years have begun new services and made system upgrades that create technical obstacles to surveillance. They want to increase legal incentives and penalties aimed at pushing carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and Comcast to ensure that any network changes will not disrupt their ability to conduct wiretaps.
An Obama administration task force that includes officials from the Justice and Commerce Departments, the F.B.I. and other agencies recently began working on draft legislation to strengthen and expand a 1994 law requiring carriers to make sure their systems can be wiretapped. There is not yet agreement over the details, according to officials familiar with the deliberations, but they said the administration intends to submit a package to Congress next year.
I believe I know the purposes afoot by these actions. This is not about terrorism or the FBI's ability to protect us against terrorism. This is about the FBI's and other law enforcement agencies domestic surveillance capabilities. Something this administration has no qualms about tapping into.

And right now, this administration feels threatened and they are pulling out all stops to insure that their capabilities to peek under our skirts are not complicated or denied. And that includes apparently, criminal prosecution of all telecommunications providers who don't immediately dance to their tune.

Stay tuned folks. (pun intended)

Europe in crisis

For those who care to take notice, the crisis is getting critical in France. The French president has proposed cutting back on entitlements across the board and rolling back the retirement age to 62 and 67 from 60 and the people are revolting.

Or should I say, the perpetual socialist underclass are revolting. This week they have shut down fuel production and delivery all across France and it will only be a matter of days now, until other vital services like food delivers and hospitals are affected.

People will begin to die then.....

For those curious as to what it will look like here in America in the very new future? Put on your glasses and have a close look at France. And soon other European countries including our friends the Brits will be experiencing the exact same thing. As they too are at their tipping point and having to make dramatic social spending cuts.

French riot police clash with students as petrol stations run dry

French riot police and students fired tear gas and petrol bombs at each other while truckers blocked roads and almost 3,000 petrol stations ran dry, as nationwide protests intensified.

How the socialist sees it.
“We have a prime minister who thinks he is Churchill but who is only Thatcher,” said Harlem Désir, the Socialists’ deputy leader. “He is trying to make us think he is carrying out great reforms to save our economy but in fact he is smashing our social model.”
What he is actually doing? Is smashing the "socialist model." Out of necessity... Read the rest HERE

Boeing Cost of health care rising

Say it ain't so Barry! But you promised! You said that the new health care plan would be fair and cover everyone and the costs would be negligible and you said things like fair and......and.... and......

Well welcome to the morning after ladies and gentlemen. Everyone beginning to get the picture now? Like madamn Pelosi said.....'we needed to pass this turd, so that we could see what was in it.' And now can see what's in it. And it is one steaming pile socialist bull manure, just like we said it would be.
Just as those who knew tried to warn us.

Maybe now the American people will sit up and take notice of these interlopers and register their disdain in two weeks.

I certainly hope so.

What was that about spreading the wealth and all that 'hopey changy' Barry? Let's see how that all shakes out at the polls in two weeks, now that the people have been bent over and had democrat socialism parked between their cheeks for the past four years.

fifty five to seventy seats sounds like a start........

Boeing pares employee plan

Aerospace giant Boeing is joining the list of companies that say the new health care law could have a potential downside for their workers.

In a letter mailed to employees late last week, the company cited the overhaul as part of the reason it is asking some 90,000 nonunion workers to pay significantly more for their health plan next year. A copy of the letter was obtained Monday by The Associated Press.

"The newly enacted health care reform legislation, while intended to expand access to care for millions of uninsured Americans, is also adding cost pressure as requirements of the new law are phased in over the next several years," wrote Rick Stephens, Boeing's senior vice president for human resources.

Boeing is the latest major employer to signal a shift for its workers as a result of the legislation, which expands coverage to more than 30 million uninsured people and ranks as President Barack Obama's top domestic achievement. Earlier, McDonald's had raised questions about whether a limited benefit plan that serves some 30,000 of its employees would remain viable under the law. That prompted the administration to issue McDonald's a waiver from certain requirements under the law.

Obama's Star Wars analogy (UPDATED)

Except for the skin tone and the lack of hair buns on each side? And maybe the fact that he isn't dressed in white, I thought for a moment there, that I was listening to Princess Leia rousing the troops. All the president would have needed do at the end of that statement, would have been to utter this phrase.

"I don't know who you are or where you've come from, but from now on you'll do as I say, okay?"

Batten down the hatches boys! Break out the X wing fighters and someone please see if Luke and Obi Wan have their cell phones on. It's gonna be a war! A geo-galactic war! And it will draw all the finest people. The president has said so.

Mean while, back home on planet reality?

It seems our dear president is having flashbacks to his youth and his Star Wars collection of action figures (and maybe some of his smoked up days in college). I wonder who it is that he sees as the contemporary Darth Vader of his less than lucid metaphor? Can't be madam Nancy. After all, she is supposedly on his side (although she would be an excellent casting choice. At least for the parallel part in Space Balls).

And there aren't any free standing GOP heavies capable of donning the cape and heavy helmet and terrorizing the democrat galaxy as the great Lord Vader.

But given the chance? I think the ringer might actually be Hillary Clinton. Now there is an effigy that I can relate to. You can't argue with the fact that the helmet would do worlds for her sex appeal. And the cape and a pair of thigh high patent black jack boots would certainly hide the 'cankles.'

And I am almost certain, that she can carry the voice projection and intimidation every bit as good as James Earl Jones did the first go round.

So there you have it folks. According to our president, the Death Star approaches and all rebel forces need to be scrambled to battle stations and prepared for the finale. But somehow? I just can't get the image of Barack Obama as some sky walking savior for the country (or the world.)

Barry meeting out justice at the end of a light saber? Somehow with all that bowing and scraping that he does? I think he would go down in the first round. Probably the victim of one of the sand people.

When I think of comic political parody and symbolic political metaphor? I see Barack Obama more as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Just a poor little lost soul desperately yearning for home and desperately seeking his Auntie M's comforting touch.

Of course, there is an entire repertoire that goes with that metaphor. Madam Pelosi as the wicked witch (although Michelle Obama has been studying for the part), Sarah Palin as Glinda the good witch of the north. Joe Biden as the cowardly lion and Harry Reid as the Tin Man. Which leaves it as a toss up as to whether John McCain Or Lindsey Graham get to play the Scare Crow, seeing as both of them are established straw men in their own right.

But oh what a wondrous musical we could make with this cast.

Then again, I think I will wait for the real cast of characters that are about to be chosen in two weeks. Maybe then? I will get to see Pelosi wailing at Sarah Palin over her loss of the house and her speakership.

"You cursed brat! Look what you've done! I'm melting! melting! Oh, what a world! What a world! Who would have thought a good little girl like you could destroy my beautiful wickedness? Oooooh, look out! I'm going! Oooooh! Ooooooh!"

And then? We all can then join in with the rest of Munchkin land to a rousing chorus of "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead!"

UPDATE*****

Now look who is working with a death ray

I guess now we know where the Star Wars analogy came from......

Pelosi......Time is Money

When recently queried as to why she had refused to debate her GOP challenger to her 8th district seat in California, madam speaker retorted that she was simply too busy and that time was money.

I wonder? Doe she waste other people's time? Like she wastes their money?

I believe so. And I sincerely hope that the American voters take note of that and send this woman packing come November. A defeat for her seat would be nice, but i will be more than happy with a majority of republicans in the house, so that we can take back the speaker's seat.

Goodbye Mrs. Cleaver

Sad news for those of us boomers who grew up glued to the Cleaver family adventures every week on our little black and white TV's. Barbara lived a full life and will be greatly missed by those of us who still remember.

Go with God Barbara

An open letter to Maureen Dowd

As only an intelligent woman like Dana Perino can write one.

I used to enjoy reading Maureen Dowd. I think she has a way with words and at times she even promotes thinking outside of conventional wisdom. Unfortunately, those columns are few and far between. Reading her column in the Sunday New York Times irritated me. I guess that’s her specialty — irritation.
I remember once after I’d left the White House I mentioned one of her columns to a friend and the friend said, “You know, you don’t have to read that stuff any more . . . you graduated.” But I’m a news junkie; I can’t help myself. Kind of like some women and chocolate. Whoops! Sorry — did I say something stereotypical and uncalled for?
That’s exactly what her column about mean Republican and conservative women is — stereotypical and uncalled for. She lists the usual suspects — as in, those expected to win. Yet reading her piece I keep thinking, has she met any of those women? Does she still feel that way after walking away? I’m fortunate to meet a lot of women from both sides of the aisle — and with few exceptions I like them all. I certainly don’t think any of them are mean. Can women have moments they aren’t proud of? Sure. But to write all conservative and Republican women off as mean is . . . mean.
One night her name came up at a dinner attended by members of both parties. Someone told a story about how at a past dinner she’d been a guest and had been droning on and on in a catty way and that one of the men at the table wrote on a cocktail napkin and passed it to another. It said, “What happened to her?” Sigh. Who the heck knows?
Perhaps she was a mean girl. Or maybe mean girls picked on her. Not in high school, but in adulthood — and now she can think how powerful she is by writing catty columns on America’s most liberal editorial page. A column like today’s keeps those cocktail-party invitations coming.
After the mid-term election, you can guarantee that she’ll write about how the Republicans are standing in the way of progress and so pig-headed they just won’t compromise and support the liberal agenda. And she wonders why conservatives increasingly believe that liberal elites can’t relate to America?
Usually I’d ignore her. But most conservative women running for office don’t have time to stop and be petty. I can do that for them.
As I’ve said about Maureen: It must be hard to be that angry all the time. That’s why I stay cheerful — just to irritate her. Two can play at that game, sister.

Angela Merkel "Multiculturalism has failed'

Europe is awakening to the reality that so called 'multiculturalism,' is the true "Trojan Horse" of egalitarian decay and the front line tactic of the enemies to democracy seeking to destroy western societies. And multiculturalism has been the root of creeping decay for decades. It is only now that many in Europe are awakening from their societal induced stupors and realized that their cultures and their very way of life are at stake.

Sarkozy in France is also dealing with the realities of a multiculturalist France and the ongoing conflicts of Muslims in France who refuse to be integrated into French society.
In the end, regardless of whether it is in the Netherlands or Denmark or any other European country, the awareness that their societies and way of life are under attack by Islam, is now coming to the forefront of realization and politics across all of Europe.

On the contrary, multiculturalism hasn't failed, it has performed precisely as intended by it's authors at the turn of the twentieth century.

I just hope that it isn't to late for the erosion to be stopped and reversed. As the exact same fate awaits us here in America if we too don't act to stop the spread of the cancer known as egalitarianism.
Attempts to build a multicultural society in Germany have "utterly failed", Chancellor Angela Merkel says.
She said the so-called "multikulti" concept - where people would "live side-by-side" happily - did not work, and immigrants needed to do more to integrate - including learning German.
The comments come amid rising anti-immigration feeling in Germany.

Maureen Dowd gives a new spin to women's suffrage

Apparently New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd is in pain and down right suffering at the prospects of being tormented by the mean girls of the GOP as she calls them.

Forget about all that talk of women and their right to share and participate in all aspects of America, as that apparently only applies to those who touch up their make up with their left hand and those willing to turn their back on woman's suffrage at the hands of favored democrats and their liberal socialist leadership.

I wonder what Ms Dowd's thoughts were on Bill Clinton's wanderlust back in the day? I think I know the answer to that.
 From this morning's Drudge Report
NYT columnist Maureen Dowd's support for women and equality in politics ends -- when the women are Republicans!

"Whether they're mistreating the help or belittling the president's manhood, making snide comments about a rival's hair or ripping an opponent for spending money on a men's fashion show, the Mean Girls have replaced Hope with Spite and Cool with Cold."

The victorious Republicans are "grown-up versions of those teenage tormentors who would steal your boyfriend, spray-paint your locker and, just for good measure, spread rumors that you were pregnant."

Sisterhood for the flaming redhead ends at the ballot box!

Developing...
Do go and read the first reports and developing commentary of professional vitriol fresh from the tap at the New York Times, as it can only be shoveled by one of their all star 'columnist.'

Tea Party blamed again

Two weeks out from the midterms and it is getting nasty. Death threats and more accusations of hate speech and once again assaults on valid first amendment rights to political commentary are at state.

And predictably, the left accuses their most notable tormentors the Tea Party. Stay tuned this will get worse in the next fourteen days.

A prescription for disaster

Anyone could have told the American public what was coming and many people did. But no one was listening, especially those in Washington who rammed through the new health care law under Pelosi and Obama.

Remember when Nancy said, "we need to go ahead and pass this bill, so that we can see what's in it?"

Well now we know what's in in and this is going to be interesting, once these realities settle in on people.

New Rules Coming for Payments Out of Health Savings Accounts

Under the new health care law, consumers using workplace pre-tax health savings accounts will soon need a doctor's note to pay for Tylenol and an estimated 15,000 other over-the-counter drugs.
Starting Jan. 1, employees who use flexible spending accounts (FSAs), health saving accounts (HSAs), or health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs) to pay for common medications such as pain relievers, cold medicines, antacids and allergy medications will need prescriptions. The new rules don't apply to insulin.
The new rules will also prohibit the use of FSA or HRA debit cards provided by administrative plans for over-the-counter purchases because the IRS says there's no way to prove the drugs were prescribed.
The IRS says any money removed from HSA accounts to pay for medical expenses not bought with a prescription will be included as taxable income and subject to an additional tax of 20 percent.
Robert Zirkelbach, a spokesman for America's Health Insurance Plans, the industry lobby that voiced support for the overhaul but has been accused by some of the law's proponents of trying to undermine it, said the law creates "unintended consequences."
I especially like that part about the law creating unintended consequences. Maybe that is what happens after you pass legislation that you don't have a clue about.

A doctor's prescription for Tylenol, just so you can claim the deduction eh..... Something tells me that there are going to be a lot of scripts for pain killers come January.

Bobble head pin heads

Got this by way of Rick over at Brutally Honest.
Two pieces for comparison.

How does he get away with it?

"Blacks probably don't watch Meet The Press."

And then there is this

Obama: "Tribal Attitude" Surfaces in Tough Times

Asked about what the questioner saw as an increase in racial tension Thursday, President Obama said a "tribal attitude" can come as a result of economic hardship.
"Historically, when you look at how America has evolved, typically we make progress on race relations in fits and starts," he said at a town hall event with young Americans.
He then suggested that the recession has played a part in driving racial antagonism while he has been in office.
"Often times misunderstandings and antagonisms surface most strongly when times are tough. And that's not surprising," Mr. Obama said, arguing that Americans are less worried when things are going well.
He added that anxiety over not being able to pay bills - or having lost a job or a home - sometimes "organizes itself around kind of a tribal attitude, and issues of race become more prominent."

"You kind of have to drop the standard for the first lady, right?"

Nope. I don't think so.

And how about this.....

the official explained late Thursday. "I mean, she's pretty well liked and probably doesn't know what she's doing."

Here's a tip. I don't think here husband knows what he's doing either. And I didn't from the beginning. So does that automatically give them a pass?

FIRST LADY CAMPAIGNS INSIDE POLLING PLACE
Thu Oct 14 2010 16:19:25 ET

First lady Michelle Obama appears to have violated Illinois law -- when she engaged in political discussion at a polling place!

The drama began after Mrs. Obama stopped off at the Martin Luther King Center on the south side of Chicago to cast an early vote.

After finishing at the machine, Obama went back to the desk and handed in her voting key.

She let voters including electrician Dennis Campbell, 56, take some photos.

"She was telling me how important it was to vote to keep her husband's agenda going," Campbell said.

According to a pool reporter from the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES at the scene, the conversation took place INSIDE the voting center, not far from the booths.

Illinois state law -- Sec. 17-29 (a) -- states: "No judge of election, pollwatcher, or other person shall, at any primary or election, do any electioneering or soliciting of votes or engage in any political discussion within any polling place [or] within 100 feet of any polling place."

A top Ilinois State Board of Elections official tells the DRUDGE REPORT that Mrs. Obama -- a Harvard-educated lawyer -- may have simply been ignorant of the law and thus violated it unintentionally.

Biden....'it's just too hard to explain.'

If there is a single phrase that best sums up Joe Biden? It has got to be "God love him!" Not singly because it is one of his own personal favorites, but more so because there is no better summation of the man or his career of work as a politician.

Here we are, three weeks out from the midterms and the democrats know that they are in a losing cause. So aside from the president and David Axelrod attacking the American Chamber of Commerce and trying to accuse the GOP of precisely what the democrats did to get Obama elected, they are sending good old Joe out to stump and try to make chicken salad out of chicken manure.

And it ain't working.

Biden, Obama's Traveling Salesman, Makes Hard Sell to Voters

He’s flown 330,000 miles since taking office, the equivalent of circling the globe 13 times, much of it campaigning for Democrats and telling anxious voters that the $814 billion stimulus measure is working. Vice President Joe Biden knows it’s a hard sell.
“Less bad is never good enough,” Biden said in an interview on board Air Force Two on Oct. 8, the same day that Labor Department figures showed the jobless rate held steady at 9.6 percent in September, the last yardstick before voters in the Nov. 2 elections determine which party controls Congress.
“Voters want to be told the truth,” Biden said on the way to Madison, Wisconsin, jacketless, kneeling against the back of an airplane seat and holding gold-trimmed aviator sunglasses. “They want to know, ‘Tell me, man, do I have a shot?’” he said, his enthusiasm undeterred by a cold.
With unemployment topping 9.5 percent for 14 straight months, Biden is having difficulty trumpeting the 3.3 million jobs created or saved by the White House’s economic stimulus.
“It’s just really hard to convince people that when there weren’t, up until the first of the year, when there weren’t net new jobs it’s awful hard to say, ‘It’s working,’” he said at the end of a three-state campaign swing Oct. 7-8 for four Democratic candidates in Wisconsin, Missouri, and Washington. “It’s counterintuitive.”

Even poor old Joe knows that making this sale? Is right up there with selling bear turds to Eskimos. It just ain't gonna happen.

What was it Joe called it? Oh yes....counterintuitive. Yep, that would be what it is alright. Another way of saying it would be to say that the American people now recognize a bald face lie when they see one. So they aren't buying and Joe knows it.

Sarcozy and the French are out of options...

Chaos and anarchy to follow.

One of the great overlooked problems with socialism, is that once it has been established in a society, it must at some point reach it's tipping point. The point at which the society can no longer sustain the obligations. The point at which the system collapses upon itself.

That point has been reached in France and it will soon be reached in other European countries and the UK. The days of wine and roses are over. The simple fact is, these Societies cannot sustain unrestrained socialist giveaway programs.  And now that they are facing the inevitable, those about to be cut and those yet to receive their slice of the public pie are spilling into the streets demanding that the end cannot (will not) be.

But it is......

Sarkozy stands firm as pension protests escalate

President Nicolas Sarkozy could face the greatest challenge of his presidency in the next few days as a month-old protest against pension reform swells towards outright confrontation.
More than 3 million demonstrators – one in 20 of all French people – marched yesterday against the President's plans to raise the standard retirement age from 60 to 62. Tens of thousands of students joined the marches for the first time, threatening to radicalise the protests and broaden them into a rebellion against a deeply unpopular presidency.
Militant union branches in the railway and oil-refining industries were pushing last night for a showdown with Mr Sarkozy, who has made reform of the loss-making state pension system the make-or-break issue of his final 20 months in office.
When societies collapse, chaos and violence are always the end result. The collapse has begun in France and unless something happens to forestall or postpone the reality that president Sarkozy is being forced to address financially, then the outcome is both predictable and inevitable. As the days and weeks pass, France will slip farther and farther into the abyss of social anarchy, until a point is reached where the economy completely collapses and all that is left is rioting and rampaging in the streets. Then comes civil war.

Much has been written about history repeating itself and the French are about to receive a front row seat to their own latest chapter.

Are democrats becoming republicans?

It damn sure looks that way in a lot of these congressional races. Having spent the last ten years demonizing the GOP, many democrats are now trying to demonstrate their allegiances and supposed commonality of thought as they approach what they have to realize is going to be a good old country butt whipping at the polls come November.

Can democrats become republicans? You betcha they can when they  know their azz is on the line.  I believe that the America electorate is smarter now than they were two years ago.

Let's hope so.
