Forward

OK, Can anyone truly say that this is a coincidence?

New Obama slogan has long ties to Marxism, socialism

The Obama campaign apparently didn't look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, "Forward" — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.
Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called "Forward (generic name of socialist publications)."
"The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications," the online encyclopedia explains.
The slogan "Forward!" reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.
The Obama campaign released its new campaign slogan Monday in a 7-minute video. The title card has simply the word "Forward" with the "O" having the familiar Obama logo from 2008. It will be played at rallies this weekend that mark the Obama re-election campaign's official beginning.

This fall, you will get one chance to make the right decision

It shouldn’t work that way, but evidently it does in today’s warped, twisted and perverted society.

I don't bank with Bank of America, but now I have a very good reason not to ever even consider banking with them. If enough Americans would begin standing up for their rights with their pocketbooks, then these companies would either get the message or go under via their own stupidity.

Bank of America Tells Firearms Company to Take Their Account Elsewhere

imagesFor the past twelve years, the McMillan companies have been banking with Bank of America.  Kelly McMillan, operations director told The Daily Caller that the company has never bounced a check or been late on a payment.  Their record with the bank has been exemplary.
Last week, Bank of America business banking senior vice president Ray Fox met with McMillan in what was supposed to be a routing account review, however the meeting quickly changed as McMillan wrote on Facebook saying,
“[Fox] spent 5 minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last 5 years and have become more of a firearms manufacturer than a supplier of accessories.”
“At this point I interrupted him.  Can I possibly save you some time so that you don’t waste your breath? What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer what my business.’”
“[Fox] That is correct.”
McMillan’s company is comprised of McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing and McMillan Group International.  Bank of America knew they manufactured guns when they first accepted the corporate account and extended a line of credit to them.  Evidently, they have changed their philosophy and have decided not to do business with anyone that supports the Second Amendment.
McMillan said that they plan to take their banking business to one that supports the Second Amendment and is friendly with the firearms industry and is even considering to stop accepting any and all Bank of America credit cards at any of the company’s businesses.  He also plans to tell the National Rifle Association and every other gun organization along with all of his friends about Bank of America’s anti-gun stand.
What I want to know is where is the ACLU and other organizations that go after other businesses that refuse to do business with people they don’t agree with such as the Christian owned t-shirt company in Kentucky that is facing a lawsuit for refusing to take an order for shirts from a gay activist group.  If it is not okay for a Christian owned company to refuse to do business with an organization that goes against their religious beliefs, then how is it okay for Bank of America to refuse to do business with a company just because they are now anti-gun?  It shouldn’t work that way, but evidently it does in today’s warped, twisted and perverted society.

More class warfare from the man with no class

It must be election season. I received an email from the president this morning, touting his efforts to raise money for his last campaign. My thoughts were? "I sincerely hope this is your last campaign." And I sincerely hope that the American people will send this anti American interloper packing.

Mean while, the drumbeat of Fabian socialism goes on.

In advance of a major Occupy rally planned for Tuesday, President Obama delivered a speech this morning filled with class warfare rhetoric.

The president warned union members that Republicans would rather give "rich folks" more tax breaks, than invest in the American worker.

"Republicans in Congress would rather put fewer of you to work rebuilding America than ask millionaires and billionaires to live without massive new tax cuts on top of the ones they’ve already gotten," Obama declared in a speech to to construction union members at the Hilton hotel in Washington.

Obama added that Republicans' economic plan depended on tax cuts for the rich and "dismantling your unions."

"I mean, if you ask them, what’s their big economic plan in addition to tax cuts for rich folks, it’s dismantling your unions.  After all you’ve done to build and protect the middle class, they make the argument you’re responsible for the problems facing the middle class," Obama added.

The president praised the unionized middle class as the for contributing to an economy based on the middle class.

"You believed prosperity shouldn’t be reserved just for a privileged few; it should extend all the way from the boardroom all the way down to the factory floor."

Tuesday, May 1st has been recognized by labor organizers as International Workers’ Day.
It is usually celebrated by left-wing activists as a day to protest for workers rights, by creating a general strike in protest for unequally.
This year, the Occupy movement has declared a general strike in solidarity with union workers to protest economic inequality.
"Don't go to work or school on Tuesday!" proclaims the Occupy Wall Street website, "For the first time, workers, students, immigrants, and the unemployed from over 125 U.S. cities will stand together for economic justice."

The Campaigner in Chief

Once again our president is a man of firsts. In this case, he is out campaigning all of his contemporaries of the modern age, Going back over forty years.  And this report comes from our friends in the UK, a place where journalists actually continue to cover the goings on of both government and politicians.

Don't looks for any reports on this from our media here in America. No more than you will see them pointing out that Obama has already put more debt on this country than all of his predecessors combined.

Like I said, a man of firsts and he may very well be the one to preside over the collapse of this nation, which will also be a first.

Obama has held more re-election fundraisers than previous five Presidents combined as he visits key swing states on 'permanent campaign'

Barack Obama has already held more re-election fundraising events than every elected president since Richard Nixon combined, according to figures to be published in a new book.
Obama is also the only president in the past 35 years to visit every electoral battleground state in his first year of office.
The figures, contained a in a new book called The Rise of the President’s Permanent Campaign by Brendan J. Doherty, due to be published by University Press of Kansas in July, give statistical backing to the notion that Obama is more preoccupied with being re-elected than any other commander-in-chief of modern times.

Doherty, who has compiled statistics about presidential travel and fundraising going back to President Jimmy Carter in 1977, found that Obama had held 104 fundraisers by March 6th this year, compared to 94 held by Presidents Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Snr, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush combined.
Since then, Obama has held another 20 fundraisers, bringing his total to 124. Carter held four re-election fundraisers in the 1980 campaign, Reagan zero in 1984, Bush Snr 19 in 1992, Clinton 14 in 1996 and Bush Jnr 57 in 2004.

Saudi Arabia has closed its Cairo embassy and recalled its ambassador after days of protests by Egyptian activists angered by its detention of an Egyptian human rights lawyer this month.
The diplomatic tiff, the worst in decades between the two Arab allies, was provoked by the arrest of Ahmed al-Gizawy on his arrival at Jeddah airport where he had flown to perform a pilgrimage to the Muslim holy places in Mecca and Medina.

Pit Bulls Taste Good

Tasteless humor from a tasteless man.

Using the Obama plan

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Or? If it worked for him? It will work for us. So go the reports this wee from France where their socialists are using the Obama method of neighborhood organizing to swing their voters.

Obama-style canvassing with France's Socialists

FRANCE 24 joined a group of Socialist Party canvassers this week on the streets of Nimes in southern France, the only region where far-right candidate Marine Le Pen came out on top in the presidential election's first round.

Across France teams of Socialist activists are knocking on doors and talking to voters, in a door-to-door campaign inspired by US President Barack Obama’s successful 2008 campaign.
FRANCE 24 joined a small team of Socialist Party (PS) canvassers working the suburbs of Nimes in southern France as the country gears up for the second round of the presidential election on May 6.
Locally, there is much at stake for the PS. Nimes is the main city in the Gard – the only administrative region in France where far-right candidate Marine Le Pen came top in the first round of the presidential vote.

Corporate responsibility ala Obama

It appears that the only thing that really changed between the Bush administration and the Obama administration when it comes to who gets taxed? Is who gets taxed. Really. That's the kind of double talk that really goes on in Washington and always has.

General Electric and  Apple seem to be two of the most favored corporate evils by the Obama gang. Not counting Solara and anywhere else they can toss around a billion dollars here and there of our money.  None the less, Apple and GE are skating right along avoiding their taxes while the rest of us are told how evil everyone else is.

Actually this story on Apple's tax shelters isn't really a story or a revelation at all if you know the real story behind the scenes. Nothing new here, this sort of thing goes on in perpetum in Washington, regardless of who is in office. Therefore, the only real irony is the representation by Obama and the rest of his Fabians, is that all they want to do is see to it that the evil rich pay their fair share.  (Just as long as the fair share comes from the targeted evil list.)

I wonder who and how much that fair share equals out to with Apple. Just a question.

Apple, the world’s most profitable technology company, doesn’t design iPhones here. It doesn’t run AppleCare customer service from this city. And it doesn’t manufacture MacBooks or iPads anywhere nearby.
Yet, with a handful of employees in a small office here in Reno, Apple has done something central to its corporate strategy: it has avoided millions of dollars in taxes in California and 20 other states.
Apple’s headquarters are in Cupertino, Calif. By putting an office in Reno, just 200 miles away, to collect and invest the company’s profits, Apple sidesteps state income taxes on some of those gains.
California’s corporate tax rate is 8.84 percent. Nevada’s? Zero

Another knee jerk federal over reach

Once again, the leftist involved in perpetuating the nanny state mentality believe they have identified an imminent danger that is made to order for federal intervention. There is no doubt that all states should have already passed legislation addressing this issue, but the failure of states to do so, does not give the federal government permission or any right to intervene and create broad sweeping legislation.

There is that small part of the constitution and the bill of rights that says something about all powers not specifically granted to the federal government, being reserved to the states and the people? (10th amendment?) I am sorry messer LaHood, but we don't need a federal statute to be enforced by state and local officers, unless you are looking at expanding the enforcement capabilities of those officers in states adjoining the Mexican border.

For the record messer LaHood, the states don't need a federal law empowering them to enforce immigration laws against illegal aliens. Not as long as the federal government is doing its job on the matter. Which it isn't, therefore, if you want to pass new legislation empowering state officers to intervene in something serious nationally? Have a look at allowing them to enforce federal laws governing illegal immigration and leave the rest of the local issues to the competent jurisdiction of the states and the people.
Drivers of any vehicle would be covered
U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood called on Thursday for a federal law to ban talking on a cell phone or texting while driving any type of vehicle on any road in the country.
Drivers of any vehicle would be covered
Tough federal legislation is the only way to deal with what he called a "national epidemic," he said at a distracted-driving summit in San Antonio, Texas, that drew doctors, advocates and government officials.
LaHood said it is important for the police to have "the opportunity to write tickets when people are foolishly thinking they can drive safely or use a cell phone and text and drive."
LaHood has previously criticized behind-the-wheel use of cell phones and other devices, but calling for a federal law prohibiting the practice takes his effort to a new level.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that 3,000 fatal traffic accidents nationwide last year were the result of distracted driving. Using a cell phone while driving delays reaction time the same amount as having a blood alcohol concentration of .08, the legal limit, the highway agency said.

On the looming anniversary of Bin Ladin's death comes this news.

A gutsy call alright. Standard operating procedure for this administration if you ask me. Seize all the credit or assign all the blame is the name of the game for this white house. There is no middle ground in covering your ass and deceiving the American people in the process.

What 'Gutsy Call'?

Today, Time magazine got hold of a memo written by then-CIA head Leon Panetta after he received orders from Barack Obama’s team to greenlight the bin Laden mission. Here’s the text, which summarized the situation:

Received phone call from Tom Donilon who stated that the President made a decision with regard to AC1 [Abbottabad Compound 1]. The decision is to proceed with the assault.

The timing, operational decision making and control are in Admiral McRaven’s hands. The approval is provided on the risk profile presented to the President. Any additional risks are to be brought back to the President for his consideration. The direction is to go in and get bin Laden and if he is not there, to get out. Those instructions were conveyed to Admiral McRaven at approximately 10:45 am.

This, of course, was the famed “gutsy call.” Here’s what Tom Hanks narrated in Obama’s campaign film, “The Road We’ve Traveled”:

HANKS: Intelligence reports locating Osama Bin Laden were promising, but inconclusive, and there was internal debate as to what the President should do.

VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN: We sat down in the Situation Room, the entire national security apparatus was in that room, and the President turns to every principal in the room, every secretary, “What do you recommend I do?” And they say, “Well, forty-nine percent chance he’s there, fifty-one … it’s a close call, Mr. President.” As he walked out the room, it dawned on me, he’s all alone. This is his decision. If he was wrong, his Presidency was done. Over.

Only the memo doesn’t show a gutsy call. It doesn’t show a president willing to take the blame for a mission gone wrong. It shows a CYA maneuver by the White House.

The memo puts all control in the hands of Admiral McRaven – the “timing, operational decision making and control” are all up to McRaven. So the notion that Obama and his team were walking through every stage of the operation is incorrect. The hero here was McRaven, not Obama. And had the mission gone wrong, McRaven surely would have been thrown under the bus.

All hands on deck! General Quarters! The plate spinner in chief has a low speed wobble! The economy is faltering once again! Will he be able to keep all the plates of deception spinning through November? Come see the ring master as he pulls in all of his best circus acts to try and keep you distracted from the truth. Watch as Tim Geithner at Treasury blows smoke rings, while Ben Bernake pulls rabbits out of his back side and sells more Kool Aid to the masses!

US Economy Grows at Tepid 2.2% Pace; Misses Estimates

U.S. economic growth cooled in the first quarter as businesses cut back on investment and restocked shelves at a moderate pace, but stronger demand for automobiles softened the blow.

Gross domestic product expanded at a 2.2 percent annual rate, the Commerce Department said on Friday in its advance estimate, moderating from the fourth quarter's 3 percent rate.
While that was below economists' expectations for a 2.5 percent pace, a surge in consumer spending took some of the sting from the report. However, growth was still stronger than analysts' predictions early in the quarter for an expansion below 1.5 percent.
Although the details were mixed, the GDP report offered a somewhat better picture of growth compared with the fourth quarter, when inventory building accounted for nearly two thirds of the economy's growth. In the first quarter, demand from consumers took up the slack.
Consumer spending which accounts for about 70 percent of U.S. economic activity, increased at a 2.9 percent rate - the fastest pace since the fourth quarter of 2010. That compared to a 2.1 percent rise in the fourth quarter.
There were some signs of underlying strength, with even home construction rising at its fastest pace since the second quarter of 2010, thanks to the unusually warm winter.
But business spending fell for the first time since the fourth quarter of 2009, with investment in equipment and software rising at its slowest pace since the recession ended.

Today is the start of the rest of his life

Was it against military regulations for this Marine to criticize the president? Yes it was. It is always against regulations to refuse to follow the orders of superiors or the orders of the commander in chief. However, there are exceptions and those exceptions are covered in the UCMJ by the provision that allows a member of the armed service to disobey what they believe to be illegal orders. As long as they are prepared to defend their position and suffer the consequences, orders can be refused.

In this case, this Marine veteran stated that he would not obey the illegal orders of the commander in chief. He didn't refuse to obey any order specifically, he only stated that he would not obey any illegal orders from this commander in chief and he let that sentiment be known on his personal facebook page. And for doing so he will pay the price of losing his Marine Corps career and as punishment, he will be discharged less than honorably from a Corps that he loves. Sgt. Gary Stein will suffer the consequences of stating that he would not follow illegal orders by this president, but he will do so with honor.

What is honor? How do we measure it? As this Marine said, they can discharge him from the Corps for his actions, but they can not take the title United States Marine away from him.  He has earned that. As for me? I measure fidelity in an individual's commitment to live by their oath. I measure valor by an individual's willingness to sacrifice themselves for the greater good of their country. I measure honor in an individual's ability to stand their ground in the face of adversity, all the while knowing the price that must be paid.

If anything, this Marine just emblazoned the title United States Marine across his character in bolder letters. Sgt. Gary Stein demonstrated the courage, fidelity, valor, honor and steadfastness to stand in the face of adversity and defend that which he knows to be right. To do so against all enemies foreign and domestic as the oath statees. He has stood against that which he knows to be wrong. And for that he will pay a price.

Personally, I wish there were more United States Marines like this one. I wish we had three divisions of them. Semper Fi!

Tea Party Marine Gary Stein has responded to his "other-than-honorable discharge" from the United States Military for criticizing President Obama on Facebook.
"I have spent the last 9 years honorably serving this great nation and the Corps," Stein wrote on his personal Facebook page, "Even though I will be discharged no one can take the title of Marine away from me."
Stein drew controversy after starting an Armed Forces Tea Party Facebook page in 2010 and put a photo of Obama on the movie poster of "Jackass."
Stein was further scrutinized by his superiors after he posted that he wouldn't follow "illegal orders" from President Obama.
"I thank my family and friends for their support and love," Stein concluded, "Today is just the start of the rest of my life. Semper Fi."
