The Great Mediator

I have to admit, I entered into today's presidential proposal for a health care summit, with more than a great amount of trepidation. Having now witnessed the day's media coverage of the event, I must say that the trepidation that I initially felt was both well founded and an appropriate consideration for this day in history.

I have witnessed many things in my life, but today's purported summit approach to health care reform legislation was a first. I can only view what I saw today as not so much an attempt at conciliatory effort on the part of the president, as an overt attempt to grab as many souls as possible to take along for the ride, as this pig of a bill and legislation is pushed forward by this administration regardless of what the people want.

Surely there were several instances throughout the afternoon of both high and staged drama on both sides of the political isle. John McCain not only made himself out to be an idiot by his remarks during his initial comments of claiming that "we" were sent here by the people for change, but he was ultimately chastened by Obama in a manner that at the least in my opinion, left the president coming off as the learned and experienced victor over the discombobulated mumblings of an opponent who was seriously out classed and demonstrably out of his depth.

The bottom line to me of this entire summit charade came to it's true clarity during the last few minutes when the president addressed his perspectives and clarified what he sees and how he sees the process proceeding from today in his closing remarks.

Obama in as much told the assembled players (senators and congressmen) and the American viewing public, that he would in essence entertain reviewing the issues that the republicans had brought to the table, however, he was not interested in achieving his goals on health care either incrementally or piecemeal. The president went on to conclude, that in as much as was possible, he intends to push forward his version of health care reform legislation in the next four to six weeks and that anyone who was not on board with his vision on the legislation would be cast aside. He went on further to conclude that , he would be content to allow the matter to be settled by the American people come this November and the midterm elections as it concerned whose version of the health care reform was favored by the public.

While listening to Glen Beck earlier today on his radio program, I heard Beck imploring republicans to just let the democrats have their way on this as it concerned their threat of the nuclear option of reconciliation on the health care bill. Beck's argument being that the democrats wailing over continued republican refusal to come on board, was tantamount only to their desire to obtain republican fingerprints at the crime scene of the final version of this bill.

I have to agree. For as Beck rightly pointed out, the consequences of republicans accepting this bartered health care proposal on any level with the democrats, will be the end of all parties involved once the people have their opportunity to speak come November.

The people have been speaking to this bill for weeks now and they continue to speak overwhelmingly against it. Regardless of the polls and the push polls and the liberal democrat media controlled 'do overs' that have been employed and re-employed again and again in the democrats attempt to sell this rotting and stank legislative proposal.

And any fool who is looking at the national political landscape can plainly see the gathering clouds of consequence for the democrats. And yet they continue forward with their lunacy, only now they are wild eyed in their attempts and desires to take as many republicans with them into the great abyss as they possibly can.

This president and the leaders of liberal progressive socialism in America (the democrat party) have turned a deaf ear to the people as it concerns their desires on health care, reform or otherwise. Make no mistake, what we saw today in the form of a supposed health care reform summit sponsored by this president and his party, was nothing less than a desperate act by a desperate party and a desperate president to gain the complicit participation of fools who might be willing to join in on this political death march.

As Beck rightly points out and as Harry Reid attempted to famously deny earlier today, the democrats have the ability to pass this pig of a bill by reconciliation on a vote of fifty one votes in the senate. Beck and many others have rightly pointed out, that is precisely the path and course that this bill should take if it is to be forced upon the American people. But make no mistake, if the American people are to be raped by this act of parliamentary malfeasance on the part of the democrats and their president, then all who are and were involved will be held accountable and that includes any and all republicans who may be so foolish as to not see the gamesmanship afoot by this deceiver that we now have seated as the president of this nation.

No mr. president, you can dress this pig in the finest silk and linen that you can muster and you can paint the face with the greatest artistry that can me summoned, but in the end, I and many many millions of other Americans recognize the ruse that is afoot and the methodologies being employed today by your deception. I can only hope that there are many conservative minded leaders left in the republican party who will also see this sham for what it is and turn away from it as they should.

And their retort if any to accusatory chants by the left that they are the party of no? Should be answered with a resounding "on this issue, we are not the party of no, we are the party of hell no!"

What was played out today in Washington across the street from the White House, was nothing short of political high drama, aimed at the cluttered and unthinking minds of those that it was specifically designed for. Those who get their thoughts and their water cooler conversational opinions for the next day, each and every day from the mind numbing media that masquerades as our supposed guardians of freedom and independent thinking in America.

Well I for one am not buying the ploys

Barack Obama was as clear in the end today as I have seen him on anything since taking office. He looked the GOP leadership dead in the eyes today and never flinched. And he told them precisely what he intends to do and that he intends to do it with or without their support, come hell or high water. To which I say fine. Let him do it as he described it and laid it out for the nation today. Let him and Emanuel and Axelrod and the others ram this down America's throat. Just as long as once the retching begins? America can look back and clearly see those responsible for these traitorous acts.
