Blustering Amongst Friends

Clinton Threatens Consequences Against North Korea

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urged North Korea to return to negotiating table on Wednesday as the Obama administration said Pyongyang's new missile tests are mostly "bluster."

I for one happen to believe that the little tin horn in N Korea has finally dove off the deep end. Or as some would say as it concerns Kim Jong..'his cheese has slid off his cracker.' Kim Jong has fired a succession of missiles in the past several days and set off another nuclear blast last weekend. And he continues to openly defy every UN resolution and mandate ever issued against him (as if that is some great feat.) And yet until today, the Obama administration has all but remained silent on the little tin horn's recent predilections of nuclear muscle flexing.

But mid day today, Obama sent in his heavy hitter Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The one woman who is the closest thing that America has to anyone in the present administration having a pair in Washington. And all of her posturing and bravado were immediately side stepped and reduced to ash before it could even be digested or appreciated. And not by Kim Jong mind you, but by Hillary's boss himself.

Obama sends our the iron maiden to rattle a few sabers and challenge these unconscionable interferences with the messianic ones daily agenda of world problem solving? And then he turns right around and guts the Secretary of State's statements (that he presumably directed) by asserting that he (Obama) believes Kim Jong to be nothing more than bluster.

So thus stands the Madam Secretary on the world stage, blustering herself about N Korea making choices and the heavy price they will pay for their actions. And alluding to super secret talks that are in progress, (as she speaks) as if the very fate of the little tin horn was really jeopardy. Yet in the end result all that was accomplished today was the striking tinge of yellow streaking Hillary's face as the egg so lovingly lofted by the president struck home. I guess they call that taking one for the team.

Mean while the ubiquitous "senior White House official" was further elucidating that they (meaning the White House and the president) feel that the N Koreans actions continued to isolate the country and that the N Koreans bluster would not get the nation the attention that it was seeking.

I wonder if the same is true of Washington and its blustering and it's naive and inexperienced idol president. And I wonder what the White House version will be later on this week if N Korean launches another full scale attack across the 38th parallel. I guess we will all wait and see.
