What If You Or I Managed Our Money Like This?

What if we as everyday citizens? Ran our lives and finances like the federal government?

Today's headline:
US red ink rising even higher, to $1.8T

The government will have to borrow nearly 50 cents for every dollar it spends this year, exploding the record federal deficit past $1.8 trillion under new White House estimates.

I can't speak for other Americans, but that is certainly bothersome to me. And I feel that I am not alone. I remember when the democrats were screaming bloody murder thirty years ago over Reagan's budgets for rebuilding the military and his tax cuts to stimulate the economy, and those both brought us out of recession and ended the empire of the Soviet Union and the cold war.

Now fast forward to the present day and the unprecedented level of budget increase coinciding with the almost collapse of the American economy? And common sense begs for restraint and a dramatic reduction in federal budgetary spending across the board.

Yet we are currently engaged in doing the absolute reverse. And I as an observer, can't help but believe that the democrats and president Obama are of the same mindset and hell bent on destroying this country. And that shared mindset is to drive this country so far into debt so fast? As to make the only alternatives for the average American, too painful to even contemplate in the absence of an omnipresent big brother styled socialist government to provide for even the basic necessities.

Which means that in the long run, once this latest and grandest attempt at socialist Nirvana has failed? (and it will fail, as they always have) The only way out of the darkness will be open warfare across all classes of American society that survives.

That is what this lunacy is lining up as a future for this country. A spiral into economic chaos and oblivion.

If we as Americans were to attempt the fiscal heresy currently afoot in Obama administration with our own finances? We would be criminally prosecuted for kiting or worse, we would be prosecuted for fostering a ponzi scheme. But this is precisely what is happening in our government and with our future right now and everyone seems either powerless or dumb struck to do anything other than going along for the ride.

And on top of this admitted fallacy of Obama's cooking the books and mortgaging our children's children's future? He and his economic advisors have the audacity to be predicting a 3.5 economic growth rate for the economy by the end of this year.

I don't know what these people are smoking? Or what they think that the rest of us are smoking? But this lunacy transcends every definition of fuzzy math and twisted economics that I have ever had the privilege of witnessing come out of Washington before.

We can't spend and borrow our way back to prosperity. It's just that simple.
