Careful what you wish for

Well, it looks like Mubarek has folded and stepped down. Pandemonium in the streets of Cairo being reported right now. All the talking heads are spinning and I can see the evening pundits and newscasters lining up their programs for the evening.

But what happens after the euphoria and the hype of the moment wears off? Apparently Mubarek ceded power to his ruling military counsel. Which means what? A military Junta? I suppose time will tell. The media is now reporting that Obama will speak to the nation at 1:30 EST. That should be an enlightening moment.

Obviously the shut the hell up and see what unfolds mode is not going to be followed by Obama. I seriously doubt that you will see any other major world leaders stepping off to make statements about Egypt this afternoon. No, I am sure that they will wait for the moron in Washington to make a fool of himself first.

On a bright note. Robert Gibbs gives his last news release from the White house today. So I suppose, there is always a silver lining to every cloud after all.
