That was then, this is now....

So, an eleventh hour deal was reached by the big three. But what was really accomplished. The deal still has to pass both houses and I am predicting a bumpy ride. Particularly in the senate.

\Obama, Congressional Leaders Strike
Debt Deal

Wall Street is poised for a strong opening this morning as stock markets in Asia (left) and Europe breathe a sigh of relief after news that President Obama and congressional leaders have struck a deficit-reduction deal — but Tea Party Republicans, hard-Left progressives and Congressional Black Caucus members could make it a tough sell in the House.

Personally, I believe that no deal is better than the cobbled together go along to get along deal that has been struck. Boehner, Reid and Obama may have reached an agreement? But you can bet that it was not in the best interest of rank and file Americans like you and me. Oh yeah, a deal will get done, but in the end, nothing will be resolved and the economy and the federal printing presses continue to run on like runaway trains.
