US Navy Seals 3, Somali Pirates 0

Obama approved force to rescue pirate hostage

WASHINGTON (AP) - Administration officials say President Barack Obama approved the military operation that rescued a U.S. captain held hostage by Somali pirates.

The officials say Obama ordered the Defense Department to use military resources to rescue Richard Phillips from a lifeboat off the Somali coast.

Well of course he approved the military operation. That is part of his duty and responsibility as commander in chief. That's what presidents do. Get use to it Mr. President, you are in the big leagues now. No more voting present then glad handing the hangers on as you leave the gallery.

Of the first 80 odd days of this administration, this is the first inkling of him having taken his office and responsibility as it should be taken. With that said, it is not difficult to give an order. It is far more difficult to live with the consequences of that order.

Something many failed to ever give credit to George Bush for. Regardless of the out come, the buck stops on the Resolute desk and there is no denying it or dodging it. My thanks and appreciation to the president for acting and making the right decision.

My salute to the United States Navy Seals and this Seal team in particular. They are truly the finest special operations troops in the word today. I salute them and I thank God for the prayers answered for Captain Richard Philips safe return

Semper Fidelis.
