Who would have believed

As recent as ten years ago, who would have believed that the Chinese would soon be not only our bankers and mortgage holders, but they would also be major interest holders in companies like General Motors.

Aldous Huxley spoke of a Brave New World and George Orwell spoke of an Animal Farm, but I never would have envisioned what is presently coming to pass in America.

China's SAIC close to GM IPO stake buy-sources

General Motors Co [GM.UL] is in the final stage of talks to sell equity to long-time Chinese partner SAIC Motor Corp (600104.SS) in conjunction with its landmark initial public offering, two people familiar with the matter said.

Yup.

Now if we were a nation of slaves like China we would probably be able to buy up a few more stocks with the "peoples" money.
