It's a new deal, but it ain't cards

This morning's headline of the Wall Street Journal, implies that the president somehow drew a bad hand yesterday. Make no mistake, this was no game of cards or game of chance and the results were far more predictable than betting on two pair or trying to draw to an inside straight.

And unlike the analogy posed as a question by the Wall Street Journal piece this morning, Obama has no choice of steering the ship of state now. That choice was made for him last night by the voters. He either steps off today and begins to listen to the American people, or the people now have the means to stop his socialist machine and bring it to a complete halt on their own.

Obama Is Dealt a Tough Hand

Depleted Democratic Ranks Forces Him to Choose Between Steering Left or Right

President Barack Obama plans a news conference Wednesday to discuss election results and offer an olive branch to the Republicans who delivered a drubbing to Democrats, according to his aides.Tuesday's outcome presented Mr. Obama with legislative and political challenges at least as complex as those he faced upon winning the presidency in 2008.

Moving his agenda through Congress will be far more difficult with GOP leaders claiming control of the House and the Democrats' Senate majority greatly eroded. At the same time, Mr. Obama's party will need to move past assigning blame for the midterm lashing and settle on a strategy for regaining momentum and regrouping before the 2012 election.

And it appears that madam Nancy was still in denial late into the night last night.

"We have taken the country in a new direction and we are not going back to the failed policies of the past," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said to a room of election workers Tuesday.
Oh yes we are madam Pelosi. The people are going back to common sense and reason and if that causes you to melt? Then we will pick up your pointy hat and put it in a display case after you are gone.

No, there was no spin of the wheel or bad draw of cards for the president yesterday. What happened at the nation's ballot boxes happened for a myriad of reasons and random chance and luck had absolutely nothing to do with it.

The results of this election are the results of the misery of the people and two years of this administration turning it's back on the people while bowing and scraping to our enemies and pushing a socialist agenda that the American people have repeatedly rebuked.

Maybe now they will get the message in Washington. They have two years to figure it out or next time there truly will be hell to pay.
