Mubarek tells Obama to Back Off

Hosni Mubarak just finished his speech to the people of Egypt, a much anticipated day long endeavor that ended quite differently from the way American media had reported that it would.

Earlier in the day, Leon Panetta (Director of the CIA) had this to say.

Testifying in Washington before the House Intelligence Committee, Panetta said, "There is a strong likelihood that Mubarak may step down this evening."

Well.....looks like CIA missed another call and missed it badly.

The bottom line of the speech that I watched and listened to? Hosni Mubarek in essence said three things tonight.

First, he is hearing the youth of Egypt and they will have a voice.

Second, that he is not stepping down and elections to elect a new government in September will continue.

Lastly, that he will not be influenced by outside and foreign pressures. A reference clearly directed at Barack Obama and America.

Now sit back and watch as the media talking heads and the pundits try to reconcile what they thought, versus what they think now, versus what really happened and why.

Mubarek isn't going anywhere folks and it looks like the Egyptian military is supporting him on this.
