The Cadillac Fight Over Health Care

Irate Labor Leaders Press Obama on Proposed Health Care 'Cadillac' Tax

In my opinion, there is a certain irony to the reality that the last best hope of America dodging socialized medicine, may rest completely with the power and influence of socialist labor unions in this country.

The president of the AFL-CIO, Richard Trumka, said there was a frank discussion at the nearly two-hour White House meeting with about a dozen heads of the country's biggest labor unions.

And who wouldn't have liked to have been a fly on the wall for that closed door meeting. I wonder what was discussed? I wonder how many raised voices were present and how many threats and reminders of "do you remember who supported you" were thrown on the table to no avail. I doubt that there was any of that going on period during the meeting, probably just a lot of listening to their marching orders.

These so called union leaders, summoned to the private audience with the messiah, probably just sat there like the whipped dogs that they are and listened quietly, while their president explained to them how and why he intends to park his socialized medicine reality right square between their cheeks.

WASHINGTON - President Obama told labor leaders in a tense two-hour closed door tussle over whether to tax health care benefits that he backed the tax, which labor leaders vehemently oppose, but also supports efforts "to protect working men and women."

He's looking out for you boys!

Talk about dichotomy? LOL!!! Or is this just the latest example of talking out of both sides of his mouth to please the present constituency, only to follow through with his socialist schemes anyway. I think that this was just the first of many reality checks for these union fools and their lemming memberships, as to exactly who this man is and as to precisely what his intentions are.

Pogo once famously remarked "we have seen the enemy and he is us." How fitting a reality for American labor unions 2010. Little did they know back in the heady days of 2008 amid the chants of "yes we can," that they were being willingly led to the cliff like the lemmings that they are. I imagine the view of the great abyss is becoming a bit clearer for all of them now as the true magnitude of the disaster they elected approaches.

This would literally be a laughable exercise to watch, if it were not so serious and if it were not so important to the American people and the future of this nation.

As it exists today, all that stands between the American people and forced socialized medicine (compliments of a socialist congress and White house,) are organized labor unions. They are the only power that stands between this nation and the oblivion that Obama and Pelosi will wreak provided the chance. And God help us, all it takes are a few promises of more milk and honey and these union leaders will dutifully walk into the feed lots and the slaughter yards of societal oblivion, leading their membership blindly, every step of the way.

And so it goes......

This hand picked chameleon of Chicago machine politics and the chosen elect of "new" democrat party (Marxism) in America, has decided to slay the the fatted (union) calf that literally delivered the messiah into the new Jerusalem with their votes.

Yes, there certainly is an overwhelming amount of irony to this sad disaster for us all. But not half as much as there is for organized labor unions in this country. I don't suppose they will allow them to drive Cadillacs to the poor house now will they.

I wonder how many plowshares you can get out of a recycled Cadillac?
