The Pentagon is playing down the risk of infantry and other combat arms troops causing problems if "don't ask, don't tell" is overturned.
In a first-of-its-kind survey released this week, the Pentagon found that two-thirds of the overall force predicted little impact on the military's ability to fight if gays were allowed to serve openly.
But among those who did care, most were troops performing combat arms duties. Nearly 60 percent of those in the Marine Corps and in Army combat units said they thought repealing the law would hurt their units' ability to fight on the battlefield.
Opponents of repeal, led by Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., were expected to use these findings to argue that Congress shouldn't reverse the law at a time of two wars. The military's service chiefs have expressed similar concerns and are expected to testify Friday.
The study suggests an "abundance of care and preparation" is needed before changing personnel policy, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Tuesday. But he told reporters the concerns expressed by combat troops "do not present an insurmountable barrier to successful repeal of 'don't ask, don't tell."'
What the hell is 'unit cohesion' after all and what does that really represent when the majority of those in charge and control are long since set upon reducing the American military to a mish mash of touchy feely has beens.
The end result of this decision will be a noticeable decline in re-enlistment and new enlistments in all branches of our military. As once again, the egalitarian maneuver of forced perspectives will prevail to the detriment of society over all.
They know what this means and what it will do in the short term and long term as it concerns our military and its ability to protect this nation. It's not about the safety of America, it is about the socialist agenda carrying forward at every opportunity, Until it is so deeply entrenched, that the only means of extricating this society from it will be war and revolution.
Softly.....softly catchy monkeys. As the makings of revolution are ever increasingly stirred into the societal stew until the pot continues to brim toward over flow.

I heard a great question on Fox Radio this morning. What happens if an openly gay soldier is captured by Islamic forces? It's not like they treat captives well anyway, but sharia calls for the killing of gays.
And Obama can't see that this agenda guarantees that more soldiers will be killed? Unbelievable.
A point well taken. you and they are absolutely correct. Not to mention that this just goes one step further to demonstrate America's decadency. something that Islam is already angered over.
