The Obamagasm Infomercial

ABC ObamaCare Special Turns Into Presidential Filibuster

The first reviews of the arrival of the Great Pumpkin's Obamagasm infomercial? And aside from ABC (the network that aired it) the reviews look a little dicey in the pale morning light. We all know that Charlie Gibson and those at ABC are still basking in the after glow of the great pumpkin's Obamagasm, but for the rest of us there weren't many tingly feelings running up and down the legs last night or this morning.

Of course I haven't checked in on the Chris Matthews critique just yet, but I am fairly sure that the Obama infomercial didn't have the desired effect that the Obama White house had hoped for. Not even much indulgence by media on the morning news reports this morning covering the story.

Call this a teachable moment, but even with ABC’s best-laid plans to kickstart the debate about health care reform and not allow the “Prescription for America” special to become an “infomercial,” as many have complained – the president spent more than twice as much time as his questioners vaguely answering or not answering the questions asked of him. But the network consistently presented the event as part of the need to fix a "broken system." When asked, every one of the 164 hand-picked audience members said they felt that health care needed to be changed.

Well of course they did. What was to be expected? After all, this was a hand picked audience by the All Barack Channel and probably aided by moveon.org and the Huff Pro and God knows who else in the democratic party.

And then there was this....

In fact, at one point, the president went on for four minutes and 33 seconds to answer a question about government interference, the “Big Brother fear” as the questioner put it and how it would be paid for. In the next segment Gibson pleaded with the president to keep his response to the next question shorter.

I am sorry, but the word whore comes to mind when I read something like this. As if some pleading harlot is begging for the trick to go easy on her. Almost as if Gibson was saying......'After all, everyone knows what is going on here Barack, please don't make it so obvious.'

So there you have it, the president lays out his plan for socialized medicine to a hand picked canned audience and the All Barack Channel refuses to allow any rebuttal or opposing viewpoints or opinions.

So.....are we now headed toward a disastrous cliff with Obama's socialized health care program?

Was a major American news network in the tank and remains so for this president?

Was this infomercial and the policy that it was hustling just another example of Obama's intended complete control of this country beginning with the media?

“The answers are yes to all of that, and if the American people get behind us, this is going to happen,” Obama said, getting the last word from ABC.

If this doesn't break us, his cap and trade bill certainly will.
