Saving Our Flag

There are times when I am called back to this moment to reflect on my country. Where we have come from since that day, where we are and where we are headed to.

I believe that the time is once again upon us to save our flag. The time is now, before those around us allow it to falter and become torn and tattered and unrecognizable. There are many for whom the flag of this nation means nothing. It means nothing because their heritage and history means nothing.

They were never taught and they never learned of the sacrifices those that went before us gave. They know not the name on walls or monuments, or of the fields of stone that line this nation and the hallowed grounds in other nations where they lay.

The things that make this nation great are many, but its flag and those who protect it and preserve it and hold it high are one of the most important realities that we as Americans should cherish.

Our sons and daughters and husbands and wives and brothers and sisters are in harms way right now. They are there standing tall and hold that flag up and carrying it forward. While once again there are many back here at home, who would just as soon see it torn down and trampled.

Don't let that happen America. Don't allow our flag to falter and don't let our countrymen down by failing to support them in their hour of need. While our president dallies and vasillates back and forth, we continue to have Americans in harms way. Let those warriors know that you support them and let this president know that too. Let him know that you will remember and that you will hold him and all of his ilk accountable if they should choose to allow our flag to falter. But you will especially hold them accountable if they betray the trust of those who are presently laboring for our freedom.
