Ron Paul upset over lack of Due Process for terrorists

Ron Raul is distressed that the United States had the opportunity and took the shot and killed the avowed anti American cleric and Jihadist Anwar al-Awlaki. Paul believes America was wrong to deny this vermin his supposed "due process."

Ron Paul's take as reported in today's media
Presidential candidate, Rep. Ron Paul, R-Lake Jackson, harshly criticized President Obama today for ordering the U.S. drone strikes that took down a high-profile Al Qaeda leader in Yemen today. According to the the Associated Press, U.S. and Yemeni officials confirmed that Anwar al-Awlaki, an American citizen, was killed in a CIA-led strike that teamed with U.S. Joint Special Operations Command.

Time reports that the operation was carried out by the same unit that killed Osama bin Laden. Paul condemned the president, telling reporters after a speech he gave in New Hampshire today that he thinks it’s sad Americans “blindly and casually” accept the president assassinating people whom he feels “are bad guys.” “No I don’t think that’s a good way to deal with our problems,” Paul told reporters. “He was born here, al-Awlaki was born here, he is an American citizen.”
I wonder how many Americans have been afforded their 'due process rights' by Anwar al-Awlaki, How many times have those that he has led and been associated with concerning the deaths and murders of Americans, stopped and said: "wait a minute! These people have rights!"

Let's see, there were over three thousand Americans who were killed on 9/11 by Al Qaida operatives. Where was their due process on September 11, 2001? And what about the six thousand Americans who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan, hunting these vermin down? Where was their due process?

Here's a clue Ron (and the rest of you Paulistas listen up) We are at war! There is no due process in war! There is no fairness or equality in war! There is no legal framework to extend American constitutional rights to enemy combatants and those sworn to kill Americans in war!

There is only kill the enemy before he kills you! Got it!

His condemnation of taking this vermin is just ... well ... disgusting. I really can't believe he would say such a thing ... much less think or believe it.

I'm glad we got this out of the way before he went any further in the primaries. One less to evaluate for the office.

How many times was Clinton reported to have been able to nab Ben laden? How'd holding off on him work out for us?

OK, Ron is an idiot.

Good morning Chuck. Yes, Ron Paul is in the outer limits in my opinion, but he held the same philosophies four years ago when he ran and he has a legion of cult followers. He will not get the party nomination, but he continues to demonstrate just how looney some factions of each party have g

I understand what you all are saying, however, the difference is, isn't it, this time that we are talking about a US citizen. It's unsettling for a US citizen, no matter the behavior, to deprived of life and liberty without due process. Capture, bring back, charge with treason and murder, etc. But due process. That's my two cents. Thanks always for this site.

As for due process, call me old fashion, but I happen to believe that you check your rights at the door when you leave this country and take up residence with our enemies.

Due process is something that uniquely exists in American philosophical belief. It doesn't exist in Yemen or in any Muslim or Asian culture. There is no observance of due process, any more than there is any observance of Christmas.

And believing that due process is something that should be extended to a battlefield or a war or enemy combatants is ludicrous.

This Guy may have once held American citizenship, but the minute he colluded with our enemies to attack this country and its citizens, his rights to civil legal process evaporated in my opinion.

He and the others should be treated as they have been treated. Mark them WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE and deal with them.

Alive if possible, but dead as a hammer if the opportunity presents itself.

Hi Prime, I respect and support your opinion under the grounds and within the framework that you have laid it. But my concern is with--well, take the latest bill that has just passed for example. The Defense Authorization bill which lays the United States CONUS as part of the battlefied. That the US military can now conduct action on our own soil, and that US citizens can be arrested by the military and detained indefinitely if suspected of terrorism. But what is terrorism? I'm recalling a recent (a couple years ago) government document which deemed lots of ordinary, right-wing Christian conservative beliefs as potentially extreme/terrorist beliefs. Have you seen that document? Coupling that document with the Defense Authorization bill, (along with some other things) helps lay a foundation for something that on the surface sounds great when you think of it as catching an muslim terrorist who actually committed terrist acts on or off US soil, but which allows a legal foundation for capturing, detaining, even executing US citizens on our own soil, without due process, who might line up exactly with old school "Black Robe Regiment" leaders in the founding days of our Republic, but who are now deemed potential terrorists or terrorists lumped in with actual terrorist as you or I would describe them, denied due process. That's my concern. It looks like the conservate fervor to resist actual Islamic terrorism and invasion is being used to inadvertantly lay the legal groundwork for something very sinister. I work in the legal field of the Army and a few years ago there was a big pin up board at our school house, around the time of the Holocaust Memorial that year, which was a collection of legal documents which systematically over the course of time laid the ground work for all that Hitler did. Made it legal, in black and white. It's my assertion that this is what is being done, right under our Christian, conservative, patriotic noses. And with our help. Although I know that www.infowars.com can sometimes be a little off the rocker, I would say, they are often right on. In fact, I saw an article recently here which I think you may have gleaned from them. Anyway, today's articl there has really got me thinking more on this same vein. I will copy it here in a sec. Just wanted to say again how much I benefit from reading this cite and how grateful I am for you. Especially a recent one you posted about being a father and parent. Very meaningful and thought provoking for me. God's grace and blessing in Christ to you, Sir. Thank you for your thoughts and sentiments. Yes, I am familiar with the bill that passed the senate last week. Two of the most prominent RINOS were the ones behind it and pushing it. John McCain and his back pocket buddy Lindsey Graham.

And you are right, the set up for abuse is rife. but what is to be done about it when you have a complicit media?

The first amendment specifically gave the press the authority and the right to be the keepers of truth and freedom. Without a free press all you have is propaganda. and that is precisely where we have been in this country for at least the last forty odd years.

I am more than familiar with the Homeland Security edicts of Napolitano and who she sees as the 'real enemy.' Translated, that means anyone and everyone not ready to drink the egalitarian Kool Aid.

About all that people can do right now is to stay informed and prepared, because the time is coming. He promised that he would fundamentally change America and he has lived up to that promise IMO and the things that you bring up are facts to support his ultimate desires to completely destroy this nation.

Stay vigilant and stay informed and thank you for visiting my site.
