Hair to dye for?

Does he or doesn't he? Only his hairdresser knows for sure.

Photos of President Obama released this week are prompting a feverish round of "does he or doesn't he" speculation about whether our commander in chief dyed his hair.

The visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao has provided the nation's pundits and politicians with plenty of serious talking points. From the potential threat posed by China's increasingly sophisticated military to the impact that Beijing's monetary policies have on the U.S. economy, there is no shortage of weighty issues. So it may be no surprise that, after Wednesday's White House dinner for Hu, the question spiking interest on the Web is about … Obama's hair.

Recent before-and-after photos published by outlets including England's Daily Mail online, Gawker and a number of print tabloids apparently illustrate a recent pronounced darkening of the president's coif.

OK, so the media has just now noticed that the great one seems to have suddenly lost his gray? They are kidding right? Or are they just that oblivious to reality... I suspect the latter.

But to even ask the question begs to the reality that the media is so out of touch with what is right before their eyes, as to make their sudden curiosity with his hair color a joke.

Show the photos to a group of fourteen year old girls and ask them if they think that he is dying his hair.

I say a collective "well Duh! will be the immediate response.

The American media is a truly scary place. And to think, we have entrusted these people with the right to speak freely and to protect our rights to speak freely. Perhaps there are those who can now see why those rights are under attack and in jeopardy.

It's kind of weird... the second picture looks like he's been to the tanning booth as well... his skin is darker. Is it just the lighting of the camera?

Chuck, the second photo of his skin tone could easily be dismissed as the lighting or camera. But gone from gray to black hair?

I less than one day's time?

Who do these people think they are kidding?

Yea... no question about the hair.

I sometimes think they do this stuff as a distraction... away from what's really going on... like Jimmy Carter... remember when they had the big flap about when he parted his hair on the opposite side of his head from normal?

Then again it's perhaps an effort to give a "fresher" appearance. I actually thought his hair was being "grayed" too quickly... I think they were gradually and artificially graying it just so they could make this sudden "younger/fresher" look myself... thought it a couple of months ago.

I believe the job does the graying, but to think no one notices? That is the amazing part of it to me.
