Is this the end?

America's epitaph according to Pat Buchanan's latest revelations.

 An excerpt from his book.
"America is disintegrating. The centrifugal forces pulling us apart are growing inexorably. What unites us is dissolving. And this is true of Western Civilization....Meanwhile, the state is failing in its most fundamental duties. It is no longer able to defend our borders, balance our budgets, or win our wars."
I like Pat Buchanan. When he isn't lambasting the adversaries that he believes prevented him from becoming president and lamenting the fact that those who should be listening aren't, the man actually makes salient points and acts as a true intellectual counter balance to the litany of supposed academics that the left regularly trots out to lend credence to their ideologies.

In this instance, I believe that Pat is striking directly at the reality. I haven't read the book, but based upon the synopsis and his previous history of citing the real failures and disease in our society, I am confident that Pat has scored another direct hit. Will the people read the book and listen? If history serves, the answer is no.

Americans are notorious for repeating history and learning their lessons after the fact.
